Cockers of Country Lane American Cocker Spaniels These beautiful Cocker Spaniels sell themselves. However we are raising them with health and personality in mind.

Our babes are handled and loved from birth so we look for homes to continue that trend for their whole life. They are co -parented by several dogs, including daddy and a male cat. So are used to different kinds of authority. We start them on turf around 3 weeks of age, so are well on their way to potty training. The puppies are vetted at least 2 times before going to their new homes. The tails and

dew claws are removed by our vet, they are dewormed every 2 weeks. They will go to their new homes with a health cert from our vet, with all records, 1st shots, microchipped, and a basket of love that will take care of all their needs until their new parents get to shopping!

I could go on and on with pictures of Bo. We always laugh about his many sleeping positions that he passed onto many of his children. He was such a sweet guy. So happy when Anne came over that would throw a toy for him or just pet him. He LOVED to travel. When dad hooked the camper up it was a true celebration. He was a great camper and very popular everyplace we went. His little 3 1/2 legs would practically drag anyone on the other end of the leash as he was off exploring. Especially loved to go to the beach in Frankfort and his favorite camp park. He mowed the lawn with dad, road in “his” seat in the side my side. Kind of irritated when mom road pretty much anywhere with the two and dislodge him from his jump seat next to his dad. His very most favorite thing to do was ANYTHING with his dad. If he wasn’t with him he was laying in his chair or sitting at the door waiting for him. His dad is having a hard time adapting to not having his partner.
We will forever miss this boy, this part of our program, part of our heart. Part of our family. 💔❤️‍🩹 Love you always Lil Bodacious.

Sorry for the lack of posts and communication. I’m making this post with full disclosure. Because ya know what? Breeding can be an ugly thing as well as the happy days. Over the last almost 3 years we have been growing out and assessing our pups. Which in breeding is something that has to be done. Girls get older and deserve a long, happy life after breeding. So you always need a younger one coming up. It takes almost 2 years to grow out, evaluate and test potential new breeding dogs.
Moving on here, that’s what we have been doing. We have found amazing forever homes for Ella Jane, Dixie and Marvel Mae. They are thriving in their retirement. We have waited for the new girls Darla Jo, Piper J, Bella Mae to come into heat and to be bred. Mercy also is in the mix. For some reason we have had terrible luck over the last 2 years. We finally discovered that the problem has been Bozy. So we took steps to purchase a new fella. That went bad.
We thought that Darla and Mercy were bred. Which Darla would be due in a couple weeks. But that doesn’t seem to have happened. Unfortunately Mercy we believe is preggo. I say unfortunate as Mercy has developed some medical issues that will eventually require us to make decisions regarding her quality of life. The medications that we had to give her is questionable in the affect that it would have on the babies. So there’s that.
Even worse than that, we lost Bozy. Anyone that follows our page or has purchased a puppy, knows Bozy. He has been the face of our page. And a favorite to anyone that visits. We are broken hearted and would appreciate not being contacted with questions. It is nothing that would have anything to do with his babies.
I’m posting this in hope that our cocker family would pray for us and give us grace as we sort out whatever is next. I don’t want to be done breeding but maybe God has other plans for me and my babes.
I felt that I really needed to tell yall our story. I will for sure keep this page posted if we have any luck going forward. We are currently trying to decide what we do for a stud. There are very large paws to fill in that department. I’m not sure if I want to own another male. It’s so complicated with intake females. There is no peace to be had especially when someone is in heat.
I’m kind of looking for forever homes for a few of my dogs. They would need to be very specific homes. So if anyone is interesting in discussing this please reach out.

Sooooo, as eluded to earlier, we did a thing. Please welcome Booker. Still deciding on his big boy name. Kind of thinking “CLs Bookin the Babes.”
Bozy is not out yet for those concerned. But he will be retired likely in the next year. Booker still needs his health testing as he grows before formally saying that he will be used as our new male.
Booker is a black sable that came from a breeder friend by the thumb. We are very excited for him. He is very smart and confident Our vet was very impressed by how sane he is at such a young age. He loves to play but doesn’t just irritate. Well…. Unless it’s Whitney Houston. They are the same size and she is so patient with him. But when shes had enough she lets him know. And then she goes high. Thank the Lord he hasn’t learned to get on furniture. Bozy has been very tolerant of him. This was a very big concern. There has been a couple situations, however we watch them very closely and we were right there to defuse the situation. Its always great until its not with dogs. We are always trying to be aware We are proud of our boy and praying that it continues and are taking steps to assure it.
I would like to get some really good pics but wanted to get him introduced to our hound dog family.

Let’s get one thing straight:

We NEED ethical dog breeders.

Not backyard breeders.

Not puppy mills.

Ethical. Responsible. Passionate. Breeders.

Because the truth is this:

Good breeders don’t just produce puppies — they protect entire breeds.

They’re the reason we still have healthy working dogs, therapy dogs, sport dogs, and family companions with predictable temperaments and solid genetics.

Good breeders raise puppies like they’re staying forever.

Socialization, early exposure, enrichment, confidence-building…

None of that is “extra.” It’s STANDARD.

Good breeders take dogs back, every time.

For life.

No questions. No judgment.

Because their puppies NEVER end up in shelters, ever.

Good breeders breed for preservation, for improvement, and for LOVE.

And here’s the part people don’t want to admit:

Without ethical breeders, we’d lose the breeds we depend on and adore.

Service dog lines.

Duty-driven working breeds.

Family-safe temperaments.

Sound structure.

Predictability.

Purpose.

History.

Shelters are full because of irresponsible breeding —

NOT ethical breeding.

So next time someone says,

“Just adopt,” or "Adopt, Don't Shop"

remind them:

You can support shelters

AND still value and support ethical breeders.

Both matter.

Both play crucial roles.

Both are needed.

Because the breeders doing it right?

They’re the ones keeping dogs healthy, stable, and loved for generations to come.
