โค๏ธ Sometimes a bio only tells ONE side of the storyโฆ and Bingoโs story is a perfect example. โค๏ธ
When a dog is returned to the shelter, their surrender paperwork can sometimes paint a pretty negative picture. But what those notes donโt always explain is the circumstances behind the behavior.
Take our boy Bingo. ๐ฅบ
Bingo was adopted, but unfortunately, things didnโt go well in that home. He was attacked by the neighborโs dog, he didnโt have much time to truly adjust to his new surroundings, and when he was introduced to a new kitten, he played a little too rough. Those things can easily become the headline of a dogโs story.
Since returning to NNHS, Bingo has been given another chance. Staff wanted to see how he would do in a home environment so Bingo got to have a sleepover with one of our staff members who has multiple dogs AND cats. He happily played with the dogs and cats in the home until he literally ran out of gas and couldnโt play anymore. ๐โค๏ธ
Just recently he was sent to our Puppies for Paroles Program, and guess what?!
HE IS THRIVING! ๐ฅณ๐พ
Bingo is absolutely loving his time with the gentlemen in the program and is working hard toward a HUGE accomplishment for a shelter dogโฆ graduating P4P! ๐๐ถ
Thatโs the Bingo weโre seeing today.
Sometimes shelter dogs donโt succeed in their first home. That doesnโt mean they arenโt good dogs. It doesnโt mean they canโt learn. And it certainly doesnโt mean we should give up on them. It just means we keep trying over and over again. โค๏ธ
At NNHS, we believe every dog deserves the opportunity to show us who they truly are sometimes they just need the right person, the right environment, and a little more time.
So please, donโt let one line on a bio or surrender paperwork be the reason you overlook a dog.
Our staff knows these dogs. We know their history, their personalities, their progress, and the things that may not fit neatly into a short adoption bio.
And we will ALWAYS keep trying.
Bingo is proof that sometimes the second chance is the one that changes everything. ๐ฅนโค๏ธ
