Last, but certainly not least is hospital manager Angie with adoptable Tweedle Dee.

Hospital Manager Angie plays a vital role in keeping the day to day operations of the vet hospital running. Angie's calm and supportive nature is the heart of our veterinary hospital. She has been the ring leader on caring for the crew of kittens - her dedication to these cats can only be compared in magnitude to her dedication to the animal hospital, which she will be celebrating her 30 year anniversary of employment with this year!

Out of all of our adoptable kittens, Tweedle Dee (6m old boy) has the biggest personality - this man is a total goober. Tweedle dee loves playing in water and roughhousing with his siblings. Has been a doll for every person who has met him and we expect him to thrive in most home environments.

Nurse Kayla is pictured here with adoptable Francis.

Kayla has been with the Animal Hospital of Rye for five and a half years working as a veterinary technician. In recent years, she has worked as an animal technician, as well as a human nursing assistant. She enjoys her role in both human and animal healthcare and excels in both settings; she is passionate about learning and always has plans for how she plans to develop her knowledge and skills. In her human medicine career, she's recently earned her first Sunflower Award and Employee of the Month! The Sunflower Award is the nursing assistant's version of the Daisy Award, a recognition for medical care staff who provide exceptional compassion, warmth, and care to their patients. We do not have an equivalent honor in the world of animal medicine, however Kayla envelops these qualities in her role in animal and human healthcare alike.

Mr. Francis is a 6m old neutered male who is also looking for a forever home. He is still shy, but coming more and more out of his shell as each day passes. Francis is a boys boy who enjoys pets and scratches and isn't afraid to throw paws to tell you when enough pets are enough. Don't be fooled by his sass - he is very sweet and his bops are gentle.

Receptionist Amanda is pictured here with adoptable Tweedle Dee.

Amanda has been with the Animal Hospital of Rye for just shy of 14 years; in this time she has shown her reliability as a teammate in showing up to make sure the help your pets need is available. Amanda's biggest joy in life is her daughter, and they are interested in adopting a hairless guinea pig as one of their next pets. Thank you, Amanda for being a steady presence in the hospital!

Tweedle Dum (6m girl) is up to date on shots and her spay surgery and is eager to find her forever home. She is an incredibly sweet soul who has yet to meet a stranger - either human or feline. We expect her to be able to adapt very well to a variety of situations. She would do well in a home with other friends to be with - in our hospital, she is good friends with her brother, Tweedle Dee, as well as Marie (who still needs help coming out of her shell before she is ready to find a home).

Receptionist Bre is pictured here with Birdie boy.

Bre has been with the Animal Hospital of Rye for four and a half years; she is the face behind the kind voice on the phone and who helps greet you and wish you well when you come and go. Bre is a team player whose biggest goal is to be available for what the team needs help with. In this mindset, she is planning on resuming training to also wear the hat of a veterinary assistant in the distant future - for now, she will remain a friendly face to help you with scheduling, answering questions, and get you in contact with the right technician or veterinarian to help your furry friend.

Thank you, Bre for your exceptional kindness and patience in helping pet parents at the vet. Your calm demeanor and reliability make you a wonderful teammate!

Bre is pictured here with adoptable kitten Birdie (10 week old boy). Birdie is a sweet lil guy who loves to play with his littermates and be involved in the activities of the people around him. He will be available for adoption after he is old enough to be neutered.

Lead veterinary technician Caryn is pictured here with Tweetie

Caryn started her career in veterinary medicine as a receptionist and quickly grew into a excellent veterinary technician. Once she was an established vet tech, she joined our team and has called the Animal Hospital of Rye home for over 12 years now. Caryn's favorite part of her role as a vet tech is being a part of surgery - splenectomies are some of her favorites to be a part of. As lead technician, Caryn plays an important role for other staff as a mentor and teacher. Outside of work, you can find her playing with her ferrets and foraging in the woods for mushrooms.

Caryn is pictured with adoptable girl Tweetie (10 weeks old). Tweetie is an old soul who loves to sit on your lap and purr and will be ready for her forever home as soon as she is old enough to safely be spayed.

Please join us in celebrating technician in training, Hanna, and adoptable Sally.

Hanna started at the Animal Hospital of Rye 3.5 years ago as a receptionist with a dream of working as a technician. Over the last 3 years, Hanna has shown us she is smart, compassionate, and capable of reaching her dream of becoming a veterinary nurse. Hanna is currently in school earning her credentials to be a certified veterinary technician and enjoys the learning and medical side of her career as much as she enjoys working with animals who don't have a voice. Hanna also finds fulfillment from talking with pet parents, especially when she can help you understand the medicine behind your pets care in the hospital.

It has been a joy to be a part of Hanna's growth and we are all very excited to watch her continue to grow into a wonderful veterinary technician. Hanna is pictured here with adoptable kitten, Sally (6m female). Sally is spayed and up to date on her rabies and distemper shots. She is looking for a home that has ample laser pointers and chin scratches. Sally and Pumpkin (shown yesterday w/ nurse Emily) have been cage-mates since they arrived at the animal hospital and would love to be adopted together, however both Sally and Pumpkin would be happy with a home regardless if it's with each other or separate.

As a part of veterinary technician appreciation week, we wanted to take time to individually thank every member of the support staff who plays an important role in caring for your furry friends. As a small practice, we can take the time to appreciate all of our support staff -- reception, veterinary assistants, and veterinary technicans/nurses -- during this week long celebration.

Nurse Emily is pictured here with adoptable cat Pumpkin!

Emily has been with the Animal Hospital of Rye for over 12 years and has been an essential part of all technical work; you can see Emily administering anesthesia, helping in appointments, running diagnostics, and even calling owners to check in or go over lab results. Emily's favorite part about being a vet tech is interacting with and supporting people - especially senior citizens!

Adoptable Pumpkin (6m old girl) is one of the first of 16 cats we are rehabilitating and adopting to loving homes. We acquired her (and 18 of her other housemates) from an overcrowded living situation. So far, 3 kittens have found loving homes and sweet Pumpkin ready to follow suit. These kitties have been at the Animal Hospital of Rye learning how to be a cats and overcoming flea infections since August. Pumpkin is now spayed, up to date on shots, and eager to find someone to call her family. If you have interest in adoption, please email, call, or text the hospital (717) 957-3991.
