“Okay but WHAT do I have to do?” 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝘆𝗽𝘀𝗼 asked her foster home for the tenth time this week. “I know sit. I know lay down. I’m basically potty training and crate training royalty at this point. I’m working on the whole ‘keep your paws on the ground’ thing, but a girl’s gotta express herself somehow.”

We tried to gently bring up the water bowl situation. “Water is my love language,” she said, completely unbothered, still dripping. “You can’t put a price on passion.”

Fair point. This girl is a full-blown zoomie queen who is 100% convinced she’s the size of a teacup, and somehow manages to be sweet as pie one minute and an absolute tornado the next. She loves other dogs so much that meet and greets are required, and she’s even winning the cats over in her foster home one paw at a time.

“So really,” Calypso said, flopping dramatically onto her back, “I’m cute, I’m fun, I’m basically already trained. What’s the holdup?”

Honestly? We don’t have a good answer for her either.

🎉 A huge thank you to Eminence Community School Corporation and Mr. John Wayne Berry Jr.’s business class!

When these students and their teacher decided they wanted to help our shelter animals, they didn’t just talk about it — they got to work. We’ve been sending them photos of our adoptable pets along with some of our favorite success stories and events, and in return, this incredible group of students has been designing flyers to help spread the word about MCHS and our animals 🐶🐱

It means the world to have this kind of support from an organization, and even better, the younger generation, which understands the importance of animal welfare. Thank you, Eminence Community School Corporation, for believing in our mission and using your talents to help our animals find homes and celebrate our achievements! 🐾

Okay so I had a little sit-down with the staff here at MCHS. As the 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗦𝗧 resident currently at this shelter, I feel like I deserve some answers.

I’ve done everything right. I greet everyone with enthusiasm as if they are my best friend and I don’t destroy things. I even SAVE my dental treat instead of scarfing it down right away — I leave it right on my bed for later, like a responsible girl with self control. Do you know how many dogs can say that? Not many.

And my fee? Already covered by a generous sponsor. So really, all somebody has to do is show up and fall in love with me.

So I asked the staff straight up: what more do you people want from me?? They can’t understand either. So now I’m asking you.

Watch Broccoli enjoying her stuffed toys, sticks, and yes, rolling all around like she is auditioning for doggy yoga. Gotta show off the flexibility and limberness somehow. This is a girl who knows how to have fun and would love to have that fun in an actual house, with an actual couch, that is actually hers.

𝗦𝗮𝗹 called a meeting with us today. 😉

Turns out he was NOT thrilled with how his post did last week — not enough likes, not enough shares, not enough people falling over themselves for him. So he asked, very directly, if we’d do him another one. We said sure, big guy, you got it.

Sal is a total attention hog who acts like he doesn’t know he’s 90 lbs — big lovable guy energy all the time. He’s vocal the second he meets you (he’s got a lot to say), loves treats and will absolutely let you know it, and is just an overall joy to be around. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗜𝗚 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸: turns out this guy has a deep, personal love of b***y scratches and b***y smacks. Go near the back half of him and he will back that thing right up like it’s his job. Let’s get this big guy the attention he’s demanding — and the home he actually deserves.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘆!

This little gal is adorable, goofy, and loyal to her people. She’ll let you know when someone pulls up to your house, but she hasn’t met a stranger in the time she has been with us. She loves to run around and do zoomies too! Sissy’s got the cutest little pink ‘stache on her upper lip and a beautiful coat. She came to us as a stray, so we don’t know a ton about her history, but she’s been a great gal to have around since she got here. If you’re looking for a smaller dog, Sissy could be just the girl for you!

Rousey came to us as a stray, and she is an absolute delight. She might be a bit shy when you first meet her, but give her just a few minutes and she’ll warm right up — she’s sweet, trusting, loves to give kisses, and can be quite the goofball once she’s comfortable. She enjoys relaxing just as much as playtime, and she’s looking for a home that will give her the continued socialization she deserves.
