💔 We need to be honest with you about 𝐑𝐢𝐨.

A few months ago, we celebrated when Rio finally found his home. He had waited a long time, and we were so relieved for him. But Rio came back to us just a few days ago — and he is not okay — He is not the same dog who left.

The Rio we’re seeing now is anxious, stressed, and disconnected. And we have to be real with you: the shelter is not a place where Rio can heal. No matter what we do for him here, this environment is not what he needs. We know that. And knowing it makes this urgent.

We are SO excited to announce that 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗖𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 has organized the FORE! Paws Classic — a golf outing to raise funds for the Morgan County Humane Society — and we couldn’t be more grateful! Whether you’re a seasoned golfer, a proud non-golfer, an animal lover, or just a friend of MCHS, we want 𝗬𝗢𝗨 there. Let’s kick it off right by showing up for the animals of Morgan County!

It’s National Hug Your Cat Day 🐱🤗 — and we’ve got PLENTY of cats and kittens here who are accepting applications.

Our staff is already on the job (they really didn’t need much convincing and weren’t given a choice 😆), but we think you should come get in on this too.

Stop by today from 12–5 and meet some seriously huggable felines who are looking for their forever homes. Fair warning: you may walk in just to “look” and walk out with a new best friend. It happens. We’ve seen it. We fully support it. 🐾

Come for the hug. Stay for the adoption. You will not regret it — cats are simply the best, and we have proof.

🐱The kittens are currently at Petsmart Martinsville. You can apply there and we will let you know if you are approved once we receive the application from Petsmart.
