What a day for Mable. 🤍
This weekend she stepped into her very first jumper show at Great Meadows hosted by A Jump Above, and if you didn’t know it was her first time, you’d never have guessed it.
She walked onto the showgrounds like she’d been doing this her whole life. Ponies flying around, kids everywhere, trainers yelling instructions, all the commotion that comes with a busy jumper ring… and Mable couldn’t have cared less. She stayed relaxed, focused, and took everything in stride.
The best part of the day was watching her owner, Bianca Armenta, pilot her around her very first jumper course together. They rode through with confidence and walked out with an incredible 6th place in a competitive class. Watching the smile on Bianca’s face made every bit of hard work worth it.
Then it was my turn to hop on.
Mind you, this mare had only jumped a total of THREE times at home before this show. I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but she exceeded every expectation I had. She tackled the cross rail division with confidence, answered every question I asked, and made it feel so easy.
Of course, because she’s Mable, she decided the 18-inch division was meant to be done at a canter the whole way around. 😂 She definitely has opinions, plenty of personality, and just enough sass to keep all of us on our toes—but that’s exactly what makes her so special.
This mare has challenged me in the best ways since the day I met her, and watching everything start to click has been one of the most rewarding experiences. I couldn’t be happier for Bianca, who has trusted me every step of the way with her incredible horse. Watching the two of them grow together has been such a privilege.
I’m so proud of this little team and everything they’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time. If this first jumper show is any indication of what’s to come, I think Mable has a very exciting future ahead of her.
