Quarrel in the Café is a realistic, scenario-based protection tournament that puts teams in one of the most unpredictable public environments imaginable—a busy diner. Surrounded by customers, food, conversations, close quarters, and constant distractions, dogs must demonstrate exceptional neutrality, obedience, and environmental confidence while remaining ready to protect when the situation genuinely calls for it.
The scenario begins like any ordinary trip to a neighborhood café. As tensions rise and a disagreement unfolds, handlers and dogs will be challenged to distinguish between everyday conflict and a legitimate threat. The dog must remain composed through the noise and chaos, then transition instantly into decisive protection only when the handler is truly in danger.
This event rewards the qualities that define an exceptional protection dog:
* Calm, confident public access
* Environmental neutrality
* Sound judgment under pressure
* Powerful, committed protection when justified
* Immediate control and obedience once the threat has ended
From the Puppy Division to the Sleeve, Suit, and Muzzle Divisions, every competitor will face the same fundamental test: Can your dog think before it acts?
