Another beautiful evening in the garden with friends. The Elysian Hills garden has evolved over the last 35 years from a small, picket fence patch of raspberries to a wandering maze of gathering spots. We love our evenings around the cauldron with all those who have supported our efforts over the years.

Sweet Ernie watched as his lifelong best friend and paddock mate (Swan’s Siete Cero) trailered down the drive to her brilliant future. Ernie cried and ran alongside the trailer as she went by. I was crying too hard to video sooner. It’s hard watching your kids go off to their new lives.

Our beautiful Cero (Swan’s Siete Cero) found her forever partner. While it’s incredibly hard to watch a Trigger baby leave the farm it’s fulfilling to know they will be loved and cared for. Wishing this young team an incredibly successful future.

I continually chuckle over the comment “you’re so lucky you bail your own hay. It’s free”. Just started cutting hay. Will finish in September. So far this week we’ve paid $9,500 in parts and maintenance to equipment and $1050 in diesel. It’s going to be a long expensive summer.
