Beloved companion, gentle soul,
with silver curls and eyes full of love.
You walked beside me through life’s quiet moments
and filled my days with loyalty and light.
Now you run free beyond the rainbow,
reunited with Gypsy, watching from above
until the day we walk together again.
From the Rainbow Bridge.
Penny crossed the Rainbow Bridge
on soft silver paws of light,
her grey and white curls glowing
in a meadow bright with morning.
She paused beside the shining arch,
wondering where to go
when suddenly a small golden blur
came racing through the grass.
“Penny!”
It was Gypsy.
Her tiny tail danced like a flame of joy
as she leapt into her sister’s path.
“I’ve been waiting for you,” she said,
eyes bright as summer.
“Come on. I’ll show you around.”
They wandered through endless fields,
through clover and wind and sunlight,
until they reached the edge of the bridge
where colors spilled into the world below.
Gypsy grew quiet.
“Look,” she whispered.
Far beneath the rainbow glow
stood a lone figure,
head bowed,
shoulders shaking with grief.
Penny’s gentle eyes softened.
Gypsy pressed close beside her.
“He misses us,” Penny said.
The two sisters sat together,
watching the tears fall like rain.
Then Gypsy wagged her tail.
“Let’s send him something.”
A warm breeze slipped down the bridge,
soft as fur against a hand.
A sudden memory,
a feeling of love that would not fade.
Below, the man lifted his head,
not understanding why his heart
felt a little lighter.
Above the rainbow,
two sisters watched him with quiet devotion—
waiting patiently
for the day they would run to him again.
