We have been invited to bring our adorable adoptable puppies to this event with Shelter Dog Transport Alliance at Whole Foods on Merrimon tomorrow!

We need volunteers to:

- pick them up from the shelter at 10 am and deliver then to the event at 10:30 am!

- pick up any remaining puppies at 3 pm and bring them back to the shelter.

- a few of our shelter dogs have been invited if they have a volunteer who can stay with them for the event - so calling all shelter dog walkers or doggy day out volunteers - let us know if you have a favorite pup you’d like to show off to adopters Saturday!

please contact Madison County Animal Services - NC if interested 🐶

SUMMER PEACH NEEDS A BREAK ☀️🍑😅 COMMUNITY SUPPORT ASK! Summer Peach was recently adopted and returned and is NOT adapting back to shelter life easily. We are looking for some dog-walking volunteers to take her out every day this week so she has a constructive day outside of her stressful kennel. She'll do best with someone that understands her high energy needs and will help her get her zoomies out. Summer Peach LOVES car rides and hikes/walks and is a typical hound dog that loves to bay as loud as she can -- it's her way of telling you how much fun she's having! She also likes to walk downtown and meet new humans and to just be with her people.

We are looking for volunteers for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week (8/12-8/15). Interested and available? Leave a comment down below and we'll be in touch with next steps to sign up for our Doggie Day Out Program! Peach says THANK YOU!

Here's what one of our Doggie Day Out-ers said about yesterday's program: Having a lovely day out with Deputy Doright, 6 months old, well behaved, doesn’t bark, super friendly. Went for a walk along the Laurel river. Deputy had fun checking out the water. Lunch at Zuma’s. Deputy made friends with everyone.😀

Join us for our next DDO Program next Tuesday, August 4 using the link below to sign up: https://grow.withlome.com/a/3e6358e0-d7ba-4580-a36f-763d64663be4?fbclid=IwY2xjawTW85VleHRuA2FlbQIxMABzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEeSBMcHNzkv9ZQGMMPcSt9Qf9dJmoqLieEPxYPp1U1Sp1X8Z262h_I6_9b0qU_aem__SQl4uYKCZcPIOxVoo3aDA

Our Doggie Day Out Program will occur every Tuesday from 10am-2pm. You will gather in the MCAS NEW BUILDING at 10:00am to meet your hike leader for the safety briefing and to discuss your ideal day — you dog will be matched to you based on what THEY are most comfortable doing! Remember, this is about our shelter dogs having a completely constructive and enriching day out of the shelter, so meeting their needs and doing what they want is most important. Your shelter dog is to be returned by 2pm latest. Your activities for the day are up to you and your dog! Go hiking, go for a stroll downtown, sit for a coffee or bite to eat, go plant shopping, visit a friend in the park, go swimming and more! You will be hiking an excited shelter dog and transporting them in your own vehicle. Hike leaders will do their best to match each hiker to an appropriate dog. You will receive a print out of guided suggestions and a Doggie Day Out backpack with everything essential for your pup! Please sign up for the program on LOME before Tuesdays. Hikers can always choose to hike w/o a dog on our shelter campus until they get comfortable with the process OR, hikers can choose to stay at the shelter to walk more than one dog.
All REGISTERED volunteers 18 years old or older who love dogs are welcome!!! Hikers younger than 18 must have an adult present at all times. Please do not bring your own dogs.
