Sorry guys this was too cute and so true not to post it!
🔥 If you can’t afford the groom… (or you simply don’t want to pay for your dog being groomed) and bought a multi-breed crossbreed Snickerdoodle Triple-D Aussie-Mountain AlpacaDoo, we need to talk. 🫠🐶💸

💰 You paid premium money for the fluffy coat.

🧾 The maintenance didn’t become optional after checkout.

🛁 That coat requires professional grooming.
📆 Consistent appointments.
🪮 Proper maintenance at home.

🐾 That’s part of owning the dog you chose.

🚫 You don’t get to skip grooming for months, show up with a packed or matted coat, and suddenly decide the groomer is “too expensive.” 💸🙄

And no, the groomer isn’t charging you based on what you paid for your dog OR WHATEVER YOU SEE FIT.

⏰ Time
✂️ Skill
🧴 Professional products
🛠️ Equipment
💪 Physical labor
🐕 Coat condition
🪮 And the actual work standing on our table

💡 Want to spend less on grooming?

✂️ Keep a shorter haircut.
🪮 Maintain the coat properly at home.
📆 Stay on a regular schedule.

👉🏼Or just don’t buy the dog, buy a goldfish🎏 or sea monkeys🧜‍♀️ everyone likes sea monkeys.

But buying an expensive, high-maintenance dog and then refusing to budget for its maintenance doesn’t make professional grooming overpriced. 🤷‍♀️

💰 The puppy was the purchase.
✂️ The grooming (and paying for it) is part of ownership. 🐾

🎣 Keep on swimming.

I’m not the groomer who can always fit you in “today or tomorrow”… and honestly, I’m proud of that. ❤️🐾

For years, I overbooked myself. I said yes to everyone who needed me because I genuinely wanted to help. But eventually, I realized that constantly trying to squeeze in “just one more dog” was taking pieces of me that I couldn’t keep giving away.

The dogs were rushed.
My mind was exhausted.
My body was tired.
My personal life was pushed aside.
And my health suffered.

Grooming is a physically and emotionally demanding career, and burnout is incredibly real. Sometimes we convince ourselves that working more means we’re a better groomer or that saying “no” means we aren’t doing enough.

It doesn’t.

I’ve had to learn that 7–8 hours of intentional, focused work is enough. I don’t have to work myself into the ground to be a good groomer. I don’t have to sacrifice my family, my own appointments, my health, or my sanity to prove how much I care.

And you know what happened when I started setting those boundaries?

My clients stayed. ❤️

They rebook. They book ahead. They understand that my schedule fills because I have wonderful clients who value what I do and because I intentionally schedule my business around my life instead of trying to make my entire life revolve around my business.

That balance is important.

Because when a groomer takes care of themselves, they can take better care of your dog.

Your dog deserves a groomer who isn’t exhausted, overwhelmed, rushing through appointments, or running on empty. They deserve someone who has the time, patience, focus, and energy to give them the care they need.

So please understand that when I can’t fit your dog in today or tomorrow, it isn’t because I don’t care.

It’s because I’m protecting the quality of care I provide.

I may not always be the fastest appointment to get, but I promise you I’m worth the wait. 🐶❤️

And when I can fit you in, I absolutely will.

To my fellow groomers: setting boundaries isn’t selfish. It’s how we build careers we can actually sustain.

And to my clients: thank you for understanding, respecting my schedule, and trusting me with your dogs. You are the reason I’m able to do what I love while still taking care of the person behind the grooming table. ❤️🐾

🐾 An Important Pup in the Tub Update 🐾

We are disappointed to share that Jenna will no longer be grooming with Pup in the Tub. She has accepted a position elsewhere, and while we are sad to see her go, we understand and wish her the very best in this next chapter.

Unfortunately, this means that Pup in the Tub will once again be unable to accept new grooming clients at this time. We know many families were excited about the opportunity to join our salon, and we sincerely apologize for the unexpected change.

We will continue caring for our established clients as our schedule allows. We strongly encourage current clients to schedule appointments in advance, as availability will remain limited. This also means if you were scheduled with Jenna in the near future I may have to move your appointments around.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support of Pup in the Tub. We truly appreciate every one of you and your precious pups! 🐶💙

📣 PSA FROM PUP IN THE TUB 🐾

We love your pups and are happy to care for them while they’re here, but we need everyone’s help with timely pickups after grooming appointments.

🐶 Effective immediately:

Once you receive notice that your dog is finished and ready to go, we ask that they be picked up within 1 hour.

⏰ Dogs not picked up within 1 hour will have a $15 daycare fee added to their bill, unless prior arrangements have been made with us.

🌙 If your dog is not picked up before we leave for the day, your dog will be boarded overnight and you will be responsible for the applicable boarding charge and any additional fees that may be needed.

Overnight boarding is $34–$45 per night, depending on the size of your dog.

We completely understand that things come up! If you know you won’t be able to pick up within the hour, please talk with us ahead of time so arrangements can be made.

Pup in the Tub is a low-volume, appointment-based salon, and timely pickups help us keep the salon calm, comfortable, and running smoothly for every pup in our care. 🐾❤️

Thank you for understanding and respecting our time, schedule, and space!

📣 A Friendly but Important Reminder from Pup in the Tub 🐾

We truly love caring for each and every pet that comes through our doors, and we value the relationships we’ve built with our wonderful clients over the years.

Lately, we’ve experienced an increase in no-call, no-show appointments, including appointments for multiple-dog families. Because we are a by-appointment-only, low-volume salon, we intentionally limit the number of dogs we groom each day. This allows us to provide every pet with the individualized attention they deserve in a calm, low-stress environment rather than a busy, high-volume setting.

When an appointment is missed without notice, especially one reserved for multiple dogs, it leaves a significant gap in our schedule that often cannot be filled on short notice. Even one or two missed appointments in a day can have a major impact on our small business while other clients are waiting weeks for an opening.

We understand that life happens. Emergencies come up, schedules change, and we’ve always tried to be understanding and flexible whenever possible. All we ask is that you let us know if you can’t make your appointment.

Moving forward, after two no-call, no-show appointments, you will be required to prepay for future appointments at the time of booking. If missed appointments continue, we may need to refer you to another groomer.

At this time, we are not accepting new grooming clients, so every appointment on our schedule has been reserved for an established client. We would truly love to continue serving each of you for years to come, and we simply ask that you respect our time just as we respect yours.

Thank you for your understanding, your loyalty, and for supporting our small, family-owned business. Your consideration allows us to continue providing the personalized, low-stress grooming experience that makes Pup in the Tub special. ❤️🐾

🐾 **Pup in the Tub Summer Scheduling Update** 🐾

We are incredibly grateful for the support our clients continue to show us! Because of your loyalty and trust, Morgan and I are heading into one of our busiest summers yet.

At this time, **June is completely booked**, and **July is filling up quickly**. Due to our current scheduling demands, **we are not accepting new grooming clients at this time**.

Please note that if your pet has not been groomed with us within the last **90 days**, they will be considered a new client and we will be unable to schedule an appointment at this time.

We also want to remind everyone that if you need to cancel your appointment, please understand that rescheduling may take some time. Depending on availability, it could be **3–4 weeks before another appointment opens up**.

If your pet is on a regular grooming schedule, we strongly encourage you to book your next appointment before leaving or contact us as soon as possible to reserve your spot.

Thank you for your patience, your loyalty, and for allowing us the privilege of loving and caring for your pets. We truly appreciate each and every one of you! ❤️🐶

A Personal Update from Sheri – Pup in the Tub

After more than 20 years of grooming and many wonderful years serving this community through Pup in the Tub, I wanted to share a personal update with all of our amazing clients.

Recently, I was diagnosed with some neck and vertebrae issues that are the result of many years behind the grooming table. Grooming is a physically demanding profession, and unfortunately my doctor has advised that I significantly reduce the amount of grooming I do in order to prevent further damage.

Because of this, I will be scaling way back on my personal grooming schedule. This was not an easy decision, as I truly love working with your pets and being part of their care over the years.

Morgan will continue grooming, but her schedule is already quite full with her current clients. For some of my longtime customers, I may be helping refer you to a few other trusted local groomers who can continue taking great care of your pups.

Please know how incredibly grateful I am for the trust and loyalty you’ve shown me over the years. Your support has meant the world to me and to Pup in the Tub. ❤️🐾

I will still be involved with the shop and our clients, just in a more limited grooming capacity moving forward.

Thank you all for understanding and for continuing to support Pup in the Tub.

🐾 A Quick Note to Our Pup in the Tub Family 🐾

We absolutely love each and every pup we care for, and we’re so grateful for the trust you place in us! 💛 Because most of our grooming clients stay on a recurring schedule and we book several months in advance, those spots are very limited and in high demand.

If you ever decide to have your pup groomed elsewhere, move away, or if life brings unexpected changes, we kindly ask that you let us know. This helps us open that appointment space for another furry friend who is waiting for a spot on our schedule.

We truly appreciate your communication and your support of our small, local business. It allows us to continue giving every pup the time, care, and attention they deserve. 🛁✂️🐶

Thank you for being part of the Pup in the Tub family!
