An Important Update from Belly Rubs Senior Dog Sanctuary
Remarkable progress:
Over the past two-plus years, we have poured our hearts, time, energy, and financial resources into bringing the vision of Belly Rubs Senior Dog Sanctuary to life. Together, we have accomplished so much. We secured countless permits and approvals, established our official 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, restored the beauty and tranquility of the property, and breathed new life into what was once a dilapidated kennel facility.
In addition to providing a loving, safe haven for senior dogs, we introduced the Be Right Back (BRB) program, designed to care for pets of deployed military personnel, as well as supporting veterans living with PTSD through the healing companionship of animals.
The possibilities for this beautiful, expansive property remain extraordinary.
Resources Depleted:
Unfortunately, the delays, unexpected obstacles, and extraordinary increases in construction and renovation costs have become more than we can solely sustain moving forward. After exhausting our financial reserves and exploring every possible avenue, we have been faced with an incredibly painful decision:
At this time, we must list the Belly Rubs property for sale.
The Next Chapter:
When one door closes, maybe another one will open. The dream does not have to end. If there is an individual, organization, or philanthropic partner who shares our passion and has the resources to carry this mission forward, we would welcome that. Belly Rubs is already an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The necessary Township variances and environmental agency approvals have been secured, and the property is magnificent. The foundation has been laid. The vision remains.
To the supporters, visitors and volunteers who embraced our mission, thank you. You understood the tremendous need for a sanctuary dedicated to senior dogs and shared our belief that these animals deserve dignity, comfort, and love in their final chapters. Please know that your kindness, commitment, and hard work will never be forgotten.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of the Belly Rubs journey.
