Watch out for the pavement. If you are at a show and begin walking to the show ring. That parking lot is hot. When the air temp is 100 to 105 this is the pavement temp first in the shade (110.7 degrees)then sun (154.6 degrees) you wouldn’t bath your dog that hot so please put on some boots to protect those paws. Your babies will thank you.

These temperatures are from the Oklahoma Forestry Department this week.

Scott Rice & I have not done an official litter announcement for our OOPS litter born May 24th. Sometimes life gets in the way. But I decided we should make it official now that the little monsters are 8 weeks old.

Annie (CH Choctaw Wind’s First Cowgirl) and Mishka (CH Novgorod Ulric Mishka Sergeivich at Choctaw Wind) had 8 beautiful puppies: 5 girls and 3 boys. All are a beautiful representation of the borzoi breed.

Interesting research.

🐕 A new study from the RVC has revealed that three popular designer Poodle-crossbreeds (often generically called Doodles), Cockapoos, Labradoodles and Cavapoos, often display higher levels of undesirable behaviour than their purebred parent breeds. As the first UK study of its kind, these findings challenge widespread public perceptions that these Doodle breed dogs are easier to train or especially suited to family homes with children compared to purebred dogs. The results also provide vital information which can assist prospective owners deciding which type of dog to welcome into their family.

We are excited to announce our Annie (Choctaw Wind's First Cowgirl) finished her championship in grand style with a 5-point Major as Winner's Bitch at the Lone Star Borzoi Club Specialty! Huge thanks to Dr. Anne Midgarden for choosing our girl out of a stellar line up. Thanks also to our friends and mentors who have made this journey with our borzois so much fun, Mary Ann Rose, Linda Turner and Barb Ewing. Biggest thanks go to Laurie Courtney for allowing us to use her boy, Chase (GCHB Wolfblitz Running Down a Dream), in our first breeding!!

Stay tuned!! This girl is just getting started!
