Stop by the historic Wayside Inn’s 1716 Beer Garden from 7–9 p.m. to meet Bella, our ambassador barn owl, learn about local wildlife conservation, and test your knowledge with some wildlife trivia.

If you’re spending time on Cape Cod this summer, the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History is the place to be! Join them for an incredible lineup of animal-themed programs, hands-on experiences, and family-friendly adventures throughout July and August.

We’re excited to be bringing our Wildlife Heroes: Protecting Our Wild Neighbors programs to the museum on July 9 & 23 and August 6 & 13 at 1:30 PM, where you’ll meet our non-releasable ambassador barn owl, Bella and learn how you can help protect wildlife right in your own community.

🦉 On Saturday, meet Bella the Owl as comes to the 1716 Beer Garden from 7-8 PM. Alyssa Giaquinto and Bella will be here to answer questions about the work they do—and how you can help. Bella will appear at the end of our Owl Prowlers and Growlers Hike, a collaboration with .

🎸 Sunday, join us for our Open Mic Night hosted by from 3-5pm. Musicians, feel free to signup on our Resy page (some spots available for walk-ins, too). Everyone else, swing on by to support local talented musicians!

It’s gonna be a great summer, spend it with us. 🍻

Yesterday was such an amazing day, and we were so proud to be part of the Rainforest Reptile Shows Oasis fundraiser!

RRS Oasis is home to hundreds of reptiles and exotic animals that have been illegally possessed, neglected, surrendered, or confiscated. We were honored to support such an incredible organization and spend the day alongside so many passionate people dedicated to helping animals.

A special thank you to Wendy Pavlicek and Burlington Science Center for organizing such a wonderful event. We also had the opportunity to meet and connect with so many fantastic organizations, including the Massachusetts Environmental Police, New England Herpetological Society, LibertyLand Axolotl Rescue, the Massachusetts Falconry Club, local beekeepers, Friends of Horn Pond, the Burlington Garden Club, and more.

Of course, Bella had to make the rounds and visit all the exhibits. She was especially fascinated by Goose, the famous monitor lizard, and even had a staring contest with a snake. We’re not sure who won, but Bella insists it was her. 🦉🐍

It was an excellent day filled with education, conservation, and community, all while raising money for a truly deserving organization. Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and supported the event. We can’t wait for the next one! 💚🌿🦎🦉

🚨THAT ROCK IN THE ROAD COULD BE A TURTLE! 🐢

Please slow down.

This is peak turtle crossing season, and many turtles are on the move looking for nesting sites or returning to water. Unfortunately, countless turtles are injured or killed on roadways each year simply because drivers don’t see them in time.

💚 When you’re driving near wetlands, ponds, streams, or wooded areas, stay alert and keep an eye on the road ahead. That “rock” you spot in the roadway may actually be a turtle trying to make its way across.

⚠️ If it’s safe to do so, please help the turtle cross in the direction it was already headed. Turning it around may send it right back into traffic.

A few extra seconds can save a life. Slow down, stay alert, and help protect our wild neighbors. 🐢
