Hello all! I get messages every few weeks about availability for rats. We ARE still breeding litters here and there but they are only in a few select varieties and we don't usually have babies available for adoption.

If you are interested in a shadow, marten or silvermane we have babies every few months and I would be willing to reserve some for people genuinely interested (and willing to wait).

But typically these days we are breeding just for ourselves and close friends. ❤️

Black Shadow aka Mock Agouti females. I'm trying to show how this gene can have varying levels of expression. The 2 adults are littermates, the first one has much higher gene penetrance and almost looks brown in the sun with a yellow ting to her belly fur.

Her sister is a bit more subtle, more of a grey hue to her underbelly and less of the brown bottling in her coat that these guys get.

I think the differences are the easiest to tell in the babies. A quick look at their tummies and you can tell who will express more.

Selecting holdbacks for my Shadow/Malanistic line.

With a big move coming up quickly, I'll be downsizing to just a few of these guys and possibly some silvermanes.

I will keep breeding here and there to keep my favorites going and to have rats for sports but I will no longer be adopting to the public. There may be Barn Hunt/NASDA rats available from time to time.

I mostly just want my own pets for now. I'll miss breeding, but I need a break.

I don't post a lot of rats these days but I just had to get photos of this guy. The shadow line has developed shorter, wider muzzles and overall shorter bodies. They're compact in every way.

I just adore them. ❤️

Available rats will be posted as the become available. These rats will be few and far between, just a few here and there.

Please send a PM if you see rats you're interested in, as I'm not very active on this page and only check it when I have ratties to place.
