Our big beautiful diva, Arlene, is officially being adopted this Sunday 🧡

Another one of our longest residents finally found her new family!

If you remember, Arlene came from a situation where she was abandoned by her owner. Her and her brother were left in a cage together all by themselves. Since being at the rescue, she has fought hard to be the boss babe we know and love today.

Given this herstory, we are absolutely thrilled to get to tell her that the fight is over. She no longer has to compete to be in charge, or worry about being left behind. We can’t wait to see how she blossoms in her new lifelong home!

Come say farewell to Arlene and give her some extra love (and treats) for the road 🐈✨

Our newest resident, Midnight Magick, performed a trick we didn’t expect by finding his furever home in record time 🪄

Midnight Magick will be going home on Sunday, making his stay at Familiar only 6 days! His new owner completed the application his FIRST day we were open after he arrived.

We are happy to see this sweet and loving kitty find his new home - come meet and wish him well on his next adventure before close on Sunday ❤️🐈‍⬛

TODAY IS A BIG DAY!! 🎉

This morning, I had the great pleasure of approving an adoption application for Pete! I don’t think he knows it yet, but he is about to learn what it’s like to live in a loving furever home.

He is one of our longest residents at Familiar and we are all super excited for him! Be sure to stop in and say hi to Pete one last time before he goes home Sunday evening 😻🐾

When you visit this week, you may notice that Ozzy is no where to be found. This sweet boy has been through A LOT of changes in a short amount of time, and he was having a hard time adjusting to cafe life.

Earlier this week, Ozzy went back to the rescue. He is still up for adoption and I know someone is going to fall in love with him!

If you’re interested, please reach out to Dave at Funky Paws Animal Rescue of Buchanan County, or mention it while you’re visiting and I can help connect you.

A little about Ozzy:
He’s about 2 years old.
He’s up to date on vaccinations and neutered.
He’s free from fleas and other pests, and has received deworming treatment.
He would do well in a home as the only cat. He may be tolerant of other respectful pets, but it depends upon the circumstance. This is the area where he was struggling at the cafe.
He would do great with kids, especially pre-teen and older.
He’s a sweet boy who loves pets, attention, cat nip, playing, and treats!

We wish Ozzy the best and hope he finds the furever home he deserves 🧡
