👋 Everyone say hi to Oakley!

Oakley is a confident German Shepherd puppy who approaches life head first into every situation, every person, no hesitation.

He’s never met a stranger and genuinely believes everyone is his friend. He loves his brother more than anything, even if his enthusiasm sometimes comes on a little stronger than his brother would prefer.

There’s a lot of courage and curiosity in this dog, and while it can seem a little inconvenient right now, it’s also something special.

With some guidance and direction, we think Oakley is going to grow into a really excellent dog.

Looking forward to watching him mature and settle into himself. 🐾

Weekly Training Tip 🐾

Here’s something that surprises a lot of people.

In training, I don’t want your dog to succeed every time. If things are going right 100% of the time, we’re probably not pushing far enough. If everything’s falling apart, we’ve gone too far. That middle ground of roughly 30–70% success is where learning actually happens.

Missing mean your dog is thinking.
Success means they’re figuring it out.

That balance is where progress lives.

👋 Everyone say hi to Gus and Polly

These two may still be babies, but they’re already showing just how smart they are.

What’s impressed me most so far is how clearly they’re developing as individuals, something we don’t see often with littermates.

Polly is thoughtful, observant, and ready to work. She pays attention and wants to do things right.
Gus is confident, curious, and always up for more play. His enthusiasm is hard to miss.

It’s exciting to see both of their personalities coming through so early.

We're looking forward to watching them grow!

Weekly Training Tip

Training doesn’t start when you give a cue. It starts with what your dog is already doing.

If your dog is pacing, barking, or over stimulated, giving a command can add pressure instead of clarity.

Meet the behavior where it is.
Help your dog settle first.
Then ask for more.

There are always exceptions to the rule but it's good to start with understanding first.

Calm creates learning.
Learning creates reliability.

👋 Everyone say hi to Amara

Amara just started training, and she’s already stealing hearts.

She’s a beautiful black German Shepherd puppy who adores her parents, especially her dad. That bond already gives her such a strong foundation. She’s still learning her way through the world, but she has everything she needs to grow into a confident, capable dog.

We're excited to help her build clarity, confidence, and solid skills as she grows.

This girl is set up to make wonderful progress. 🐾

Everyone say hi to Sadie!

Sadie just had her first day, and she made a quiet impression right away.

She’s learning how to focus, finding her confidence, and figuring out how to settle when excitement takes over.

There’s a lot of heart in this one, you can see how much she wants to do the right thing.

We’re laying a calm, steady foundation and letting her progress unfold naturally.

Very excited to help Sadie find her footing. 🐾

Everyone say Hi to Bandit!

I already love his personality. He's such an adorable baby.

Attention is optional.
Opinions are loud.
Jumping is currently his favorite way to say hello.

We’re starting with the basics: clarity, structure, and helping him understand what’s expected.

Excited to watch him put it all together. 🐾

Weekly Training Tip

If a behavior only works when nothing else is happening, it doesn’t fully work yet.

Most dogs can sit, stay, or come when the house is quiet.
The struggle usually shows up when real life happens, visitors, distractions, movement, or excitement.

Instead of assuming your dog knows and is being stubborn, think of it as a training gap.

Lower the difficulty.
Practice in slightly harder environments.
Reward heavily when your dog makes the right choice.

Skills don’t generalize automatically.
They’re built layer by layer.

Progress isn’t linear, but consistency wins.

Every year around this time, I get a little extra excited, and it’s not because of the calendar.

It’s because I get to take first day of school photos.

Dogs sitting a little taller than they used to.
Leashes held with a bit more confidence.
That look they get when something finally clicks.

I see the nervous dogs on day one.
The unsure humans wondering if they’re doing it right.
And then I get to capture that shift into pride, progress, and trust.

Those photos never get old for me.
They’re quiet reminders that the work matters. The patience, the repetition, the small wins no one else sees.

So if you’re starting something new with your dog, just know:
I’m already lining up the shot. 🐾📸

New Year, Same Rules

Nothing magical happens at midnight.
Your dog doesn’t wake up trained.
Your habits don’t reset.
And consistency still matters more than motivation.

The difference between dogs who improve and dogs who stay stuck usually isn’t effort —
it’s follow-through on the boring days.

Short sessions.
Clear expectations.
Doing the same simple things well, over and over.

That’s training.
That’s progress.
And that’s how the new year actually works.

Here’s to fewer resolutions and better routines. 🐾🎉

A lot of people think training is about fixing “bad behavior,” but most of the time it’s really about clarity.

Clear expectations.
Clear communication.
Clear structure for the dog and the human.

When dogs understand what works and what doesn’t, life gets easier for everyone. Less frustration, less guessing, and way more trust on both sides.

Good training isn’t loud, forceful, or rushed. It’s consistent, fair, and built to actually hold up in real life — not just in perfect conditions.

If you’ve been feeling stuck with your dog, you’re not alone. Progress usually starts with small changes done the right way, not big dramatic corrections.
