For that view, so worth it! 🤠

Trail riders really are a different breed.

The guide says, “It’s just a little steep,” and suddenly everybody’s leaning forward in the saddle like we’re entering the gates of Mordor.

Meanwhile the horse is calm, the rider is pretending to be calm, and nobody wants to be the first person to admit this trail was apparently built by mountain goats with unresolved anger issues.

And somehow… this is still the part we love most.

Not the arena.
Not the perfect footing.
Not the ribbons.

The moments where your horse picks its way through something sketchy, your heart rate doubles, and both of you come out the other side feeling just a little tougher.

Trail riders will really risk their entire emotional stability for a good view and a horse they trust.

And honestly?

Worth it.

🦬 W2 Horses is proud to offer Sampson, a striking buckskin 8-year-old Tennessee Walking Horse gelding standing a solid 15.2 hands. He’s built the way you want one, big-boned, wide through the chest and hip, and put together right. Sampson isn’t just good to look at, either; he’s been used and hauled enough to know his job and go wherever you point him. This guy has been everywhere and done it all. He’s covered a pile of miles doing what a good one should: trail riding, bird hunting, and field trialing, doing it all like a seasoned professional. His gait is the kind that keeps you in the saddle all day, smooth and easy with a ground-covering walk and a nice, smooth gait with a pretty head set. He neck reins, backs up willingly, and rides with a soft feel. Sampson is sure-footed, careful, and confident in rough country. He’ll handle steep climbs, rocky footing, and tight spots without getting in a hurry. He’s stout enough to pack your gear and has a BIG heart with the kind of grit that will keep him going all day in the mountains. He is the definition of a true all day mountain horse. Water, dogs, wildlife, traffic, it’s all just part of the job to him. He gets along well with other horses and rides out just as easily alone as he does in a group. He’s got a kind way about him, too. Easy to catch, friendly, and the type that enjoys being around people. No spook, no nonsense, just a steady, honest gelding you can saddle up and trust. If you’re after a rock-solid, seasoned trail partner with looks, brains, and all-day stamina wrapped in a friendly package, Sampson is the kind that’ll take care of you and is ready to go to work.

🤠 Meet Tucker! A reliable, honest young gelding that’s easy to get along with and enjoyable to ride. He’s a gorgeous 5-year-old palomino Tennessee Walking Horse with a long white mane and tail and a beautiful forelock that hangs well down his face. He stands a solid 15.2 hands and is guaranteed to turn heads everywhere he goes. We’ve owned Tucker for the last two years, and he’s been steady and consistent the whole time. He’s got a gentle nature, the kind that meets you at the gate and minds his manners. Easy to catch, easy to handle, and he stays the same whether he’s ridden regularly or sits for a bit. He’s the type that doesn’t make you wonder what kind of day you’re going to have. He’s got a natural, smooth gait that makes covering ground comfortable and fun. He knows how to lope, neck rein, back up, and side pass both directions. He stands quietly to get on and will ease over to a mounting block with the snap of your fingers to make getting on easy. We’ve had him around, blowing tarps, flags, dogs, traffic, and cracking bullwhips, and he handles it without getting bothered. Tucker has been ridden where it counts. He crosses logs, water, and ditches without hesitation and takes his time through rough, rocky ground. If you need to drag something, he’ll handle that too. He’s sure-footed and level-headed when the ground gets steep or tricky. At five years old, he’s at a nice stage, enough experience to trust, with plenty of good years still ahead. He’s not complicated, not fussy, and not one you have to constantly manage. Just a straightforward, good-minded horse that rides the same and handles life easily. He’s a beautiful, versatile horse who’s set up to become something really special. The foundation is there, and he’s got the kind of mind and ability that will allow him to finish as a true standout horse. He’s the kind people are always searching for, one you can go ride now and keep building into something exceptional. Tucker is ready to go in any direction, weekend mountain rides, long pack trips, or just leisurely trail riding. He’s well-trained, level-headed, and genuinely wants to please.
