TCDTA held their third of four summer sessions on Wednesday out on the Leiphart farm. A brief review of contact equipment safety procedures started the evening, followed by handler training in sending their dogs out to obstacles. Once teams had the basic concepts, we put together short sequences for fun. The evening concluded with a photo opportunity in the garden with all of the dogs showing off their polite social skills. Members are reminded that there is still one more summer session in August. Come out and join the fun.

FYI to members this was supposed to happen in August.

After long thoughtful consideration, we have decided not to host our annual Pet Expo for 2026. Many factors were weighed in this decision as it was a very difficult one to make. The cost for renting the facilities, buying then necessary supplies, the number of volunteers needed, the amount of time required to prepare for such an event, and the raised funds all of this produces. One of the biggest factors is a change in our insurance does not cover serving food, which was where the majority of the funds raised for the event came from. So, for this year, we will not be hosting the event. We understand this will come as a disappointment to many, as it is to us. We will revisit this event next year to see if we can make some adjustments and it will make fiscal sense for us to host the event again. Thank you to all the volunteers and supporters of this event. This is not good-bye, we are simply giving it a rest this year. Thank you.

Reminder: The 5th annual "Have Fun with Your Dog" show will be held on Sunday, July 19th. Don't miss out on the fun. Mail in your entry forms today. Enjoy a fun-filled, stress-free day with your best furry friend. Hang out with other dog lovers and learn some new tricks. You can also register the day of the show if you happen to be a procrastinator.😉
