This sweet girl found her way to us last week after being surrendered to Animal Control when she suddenly went down in her back.

There wasn’t much time to waste. We quickly arranged transport, and Trixie headed straight to surgery to repair a ruptured disc at T11–T12.

The good news? Her surgeon gives her an excellent chance of walking again. 🐾

But as our IVDD families know, every recovery looks different. For now, Trixie’s prescription is time, patience, lots of TLC, and eventually some hard work in physical therapy.

And this is where we could use a little help from our DREAM family. 💛

IVDD surgery and recovery are expensive. Donations to Trixie’s fundraiser will help cover her surgery, aftercare and physical therapy as we give this little girl every opportunity to get back on those four paws.

According to Bonfire’s print-on-demand timeline, TODAY is the last day to order for guaranteed delivery by HOWL-O-Weenie!

Now, before anyone panics, the weens have a few important notes:
🐾 Our orders have been arriving FAST! Many have been showing up closer to the 7-day mark.
🐾 Shirt sales are NOT ending today. Our HOWL collection will stay open before, during and after the event.
🐾 Today is simply the shipping deadline set by Bonfire if you want guaranteed delivery in time to wear your gear to HOWL.

And remember, this isn’t just about looking ridiculously good surrounded by hundreds of dachshunds. ALL proceeds go toward medical expenses for DREAM dogs. 🧡

Miss Edna Sunshine

Some of you may remember Edna’s story. She came to DREAM in 2021 from a breeder located in our own backyard of Georgia, carrying the physical scars of a life that had not always been kind to her.

But that was never what defined Edna. ☀️

Edna had a way of making people fall in love with her, whether they were lucky enough to meet her in person or simply followed her adventures online. And there were plenty of adventures! With her mom by her side and sister Phoebe along for the ride, Edna got to experience exactly what every rescue dog deserves: a life full of love and family.

Last week, Miss Edna Sunshine crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈

Please help us in sending lots of love to her mom and Phoebe as they navigate life without their little ray of sunshine.

Dolly gave us plenty of reasons to smile over the years through her music, her humor, her kindness and just being unapologetically Dolly.

So today, we’re taking her advice and sharing a few of our favorite short-legged butterflies. Because really… how can you not smile at these faces?
