Meet Trixie!

This sweet little IVDD warrior has come a long way since arriving at DREAM unable to walk. After surgery, she’s getting back on her paws and showing us just how determined she can be!

But don’t let that sweet face fool you. Trixie has opinions, and she’s not afraid to share them. 😂 Usually something along the lines of “rub my belly” or “where are my treats?”

She loves her toys, cuddling with her foster mom, and making sure she’s the center of attention. She gets along with other dogs but would be perfectly happy being someone’s one and only!

Trixie is looking for a home with no children under 12, a family willing to support her continued recovery, and someone who doesn’t mind providing a little extra reassurance during thunderstorms.

She’s got so much love to give. Now she just needs someone to give it to!

Our sweet Zara is still waiting for her forever family, and we can’t figure out how this little nugget hasn’t been scooped up yet!

Zara is an IVDD warrior who has worked incredibly hard to get back on her feet. These days, she’s walking with her signature little wobble, and when those tiny legs get tired, she’s perfectly happy to cruise around on wheels.

But Zara’s real specialty? Being your shadow. If you’re sitting, she wants your lap. If you’re standing, she’d prefer you pick her up. Personal space is simply not part of her vocabulary. ❤️

Zara does need a family willing to follow a consistent potty routine and help with a quick bladder check, but her care is very manageable. In return, you get one incredibly loving, playful little girl who doesn’t let anything slow her down.

❤️ Welcome to DREAM, Wilbert. ❤️

Alright, DREAM family. We have a new little guy who could really use some love and support.

So many of you reached out to us about this sweet boy who was at risk at a local animal control. This morning, one of our amazing volunteers went straight there to get him, and thanks to her, Wilbert is now safe with DREAM.

We wish we could say that was the hardest part, but this little guy has quite a battle ahead of him. As you can see, Wilbert is severely underweight, and his skin is in terrible condition from flea allergies.

What you can’t see is that he’s also heartworm positive, has advanced dental disease, and has two masses on his belly.

His teeth are in such poor condition that he will likely need most, if not all, of them removed. We’re also concerned about the condition of his jaw. Unfortunately, Wilbert isn’t stable enough for surgery just yet.

For now, our priorities are getting some good food into that tiny body, beginning his heartworm treatment, and helping him get strong enough for the medical care he needs. He’ll be reevaluated in a few weeks to determine whether he’s ready for dental surgery.

And here’s what we already know about Wilbert: His name means “bright will,” and we have a feeling he’s going to live up to it. Judging by his freedom ride this morning, he’s pretty happy to be out of animal control. Now it’s our turn to show him just how good life can be.

We’ve started a fundraiser to help cover Wilbert’s medical care. Between his heartworm treatment, dental needs, and the additional care ahead, we know his expenses will be significant.

Meet Patti!

At just 10½ pounds, Patti has a whole lot of personality packed into that little body! This 3½-year-old IVDD warrior has been working hard in physical therapy and continues to make great progress with her mobility.

When she’s not busy being a PT rockstar, Patti enjoys following her foster mom everywhere, playing fetch, giving cuddles, and performing quality control inspections on her squeaky toys. Stuffing and squeakers beware! 😂

She’s house-trained, gets along with other small dogs, and has pretty much mastered the art of being adorable.

Patti’s perfect match? Someone who will continue her PT, happily throw a ball 500 times, supervise her toy destruction, and provide unlimited snuggles. ❤️

How is our favorite honorary ween STILL looking for his forever family?! ❤️

McGuinness may or may not have a single dachshund gene under all that floof, but we can confirm he’s 100% lovable. 😂

This silly, happy little guy has come such a long way in foster care! He’s fully house-trained, loves meeting people and small dogs, enjoys his neighborhood walks, and has officially earned his Velcro dog certification. Personal space? Never heard of it.

His ideal home? A calmer household with a canine buddy, someone who’s home often, plenty of cuddles, and a secure setup to keep his occasional escape-artist tendencies in check. 🐾

We KNOW McGuinness’s family is out there. They just haven’t found him yet!

Pearl (R) is officially HOME, and we couldn’t be happier for her and her new family! Here’s to lots of love, snuggles, and spoiled-dog privileges ahead.
