Hi! I’m Pearl! My brother, Hank and I were adopted from GM in 2017, when we were little kittens and had a wonderful life with our family. Sadly, our mama passed away and daddy had to move somewhere that did not accept cats, so we had to come back to GM. It was really sad and traumatizing for us. Going from just the two of us, being loved and adored, to living with several cats was super stressful. I wasn’t handling it well so it was decided that maybe I should be on some anxiety meds. That seems to be helping my stress level and I am much more relaxed. Do I now love living with several other cats? The answer to that question is absolutely not. But I am grateful for all the love the humans are giving me! I get lots of pets and belly rubs, which I like! And one of my favorite activities at the shelter is Yoga with Cats. I like to claim a person and a mat and watch the human do all kinds of strange movements. But I like it and it helps relax me too.
Hank and I were close and were going to be adopted together again, but sadly, he was diagnosed with FIP and is now in foster, undergoing treatment, which is like 6 months. We had a talk and we decided as much as we liked each other, I didn’t want to wait around for 6 months to find my new family. I was ready to get on with my life. I wanted a human again to love me and let me cuddle them. I want a forever home. We both agreed that would be best. So now here I am, hoping and praying someone falls in love with me soon! And to help the process along, all the other cats decided I could be the featured cat for September. I know they like me about as much as I like them, but they understand where I am coming from and they want what is best for me. So they all voted for me. So if you are looking for new friend to love, will you come and meet me? I’d love to be a single cat, but I would probably be OK with one other laid-back cat as long as the adopter committed to slow intros.
So come by this weekend! We’re open on Saturday from 10-4 and Sunday, 1-4. You can read about me here: https://www.goodmews.org/catalog/ 💜
