Twenty-five years later, we remember.
On September 11, 2001, our nation experienced an unimaginable loss. Today, we honor the nearly 3,000 lives taken, the families forever changed, the survivors who carry the memories of that day, and the first responders and countless individuals who answered tragedy with extraordinary courage and compassion.
We also remember the hundreds of search-and-rescue and working dogs who served alongside their handlers at Ground Zero and the Pentagon—searching through the devastation, supporting recovery efforts, and bringing comfort during some of our country's darkest days.
Their service is a small but meaningful part of a much larger story: one of profound loss, selflessness, bravery, and the people who stepped forward to help one another when they were needed most.
On this 25th anniversary, we pause to remember all who were lost and honor all who served.
We will never forget. 🇺🇸
