We’ve been working on a few things behind the scenes, and I’m so excited to finally share a part of this next chapter!

After years in traditional education and walking through our own homeschool journey, we’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what meaningful learning really looks like. The more we reflected, the more we kept coming back to the same things: children need more opportunities to learn through real experiences, to build practical life skills, to be connected to nature, and to feel truly seen and celebrated for who they are.

After years of teaching, leading schools, and seeing firsthand that learning is never one-size-fits-all, we wanted to create a space where learners feel valued, known, and given room to grow in their own strengths through meaningful, real-world experiences.

One of the first pieces of that vision is launching for the 26/27school year: Homestead Hands.

the best day ever

When you’re little,
today is the best day ever.
Every turn feels like discovery,
uncharted territory,
adventure in every stride.
The danger feels just real enough,
But you laugh
because the world keeps saying yes,
keeps showing you more.

Then you’re growing,
and the wanting tightens in your chest.
Blue ribbons.
Fast times.
Proof you’re brave enough, good enough—
am I enough?
You’re certain the best day ever
hasn’t happened yet.
It’s waiting somewhere ahead,
just out of reach.

And then you’re grown,
not just in body, but in mind.
The chase quiets,
not because the world changed,
but because you did.
You begin to see what mattered all along.
What lasts.
Where you can find the feeling of home
with the right possy by your side.

And it comes back to you,
that feeling.
The ease.
The joy of riding just to ride.

You realize you had it right long ago,
But that you can still hold it now.
Today really is the best day ever.
