Wouldn’t it be awesome if someone in Gadsden county would donate land for this rescue??

Happy Monday from the Rescue. ❤️

If I’m being completely honest, I’m more exhausted than I’ve ever been in my life. I know you’ve heard it 1000 times. But I never get a chance to rest and recharge. Last night I didn’t get to bed until after midnight and then back up at 5:30.

The heat has arrived early, I’m not sleeping well, and some days it feels like I’m running on caffeine, stubbornness, and God’s grace. The stress has been piling up, and lately I’ve been feeling every bit of my age. Growing older definitely isn’t for the weak. And Wednesday I’ll be a year older😪

Before I start this week, I want to say thank you to the handful of people who sent supplies and dog food last week. Rescue work can feel pretty lonely sometimes, especially when you’re exhausted and wondering how you’re going to keep everything moving forward. Those packages are more than supplies—they’re a reminder that there are people out there who care about these animals as much as we do. And for that, I’m grateful.

Keith will be here this week, and we’re hoping to tackle a few projects around the rescue. There are some things that simply aren’t one-person jobs anymore, and there are definitely some things I can’t physically do by myself these days. That’s a hard thing to admit, but it’s the truth.

So this week we’re going to keep putting one foot in front of the other, keep taking care of the animals, keep working on improvements, and keep trusting God to get us through another week.

As always, thank you for standing beside us and helping us care for the abandoned, neglected, and overlooked.

Now excuse me while I go refill my coffee and convince myself I have the energy of a 25-year-old instead of the knees of a 90-year-old. ☕🐾😂

“God doesn’t always call the qualified.

Sometimes He qualifies the called.

Some days around here feel impossible.

Then I look around and realize every dog sleeping safely tonight is proof that we’re exactly where we’re supposed to be.”

🚨🐾 REALITY CHECK 🐾🚨

Every week rescues and shelters get the same messages:

📱 “My dog had puppies. Can you take them?”
📱 “I still have six left.”
📱 “Nobody wants them.”
📱 “I can’t afford them.”

Here’s the hard truth:

🏠 Everyone already has these dogs.

For years, the South has produced litter after litter of unwanted puppies. Pit mixes, lab mixes, hound mixes, shepherd mixes, and every combination imaginable.

🚫 The rest of the country is full.
🚫 Rescues are full.
🚫 Shelters are full.
🚫 Fosters are overwhelmed.

There simply are not enough homes for all the puppies being born.

🐶 If you got a free dog, please remember that “free” isn’t actually free. Food, vaccines, vet care, and spay/neuter all cost money.

💡 The good news? We’d much rather help spay or neuter ONE dog than try to place TEN puppies.

❤️ If funds are available, we are often willing to help sponsor spay/neuter. Please reach out before your dog has a litter—not after.

📢 Stop assuming a rescue will have room.
📢 Stop getting another free dog before caring for the one you already have.
📢 Most importantly: FIX YOUR PETS.

🐾 Animal homelessness is preventable. The solution starts with responsible pet ownership and spay/neuter.

🌞🐾 Soulful Sunday at the Rescue 🐾🌞

As another week comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to slow down and reflect.

This week brought the usual chaos—feeding, cleaning, laundry, vet appointments, mowing grass, chasing dogs, and trying to keep up with a never-ending to-do list. Some days felt overwhelming, and some days felt like we were running on fumes.

But when we stop and look around, we’re reminded of just how much we have to be thankful for. ❤️

🙏 We’re thankful to God for another week of life, another week of opportunities to help animals who needed us, and another week of lessons in patience, faith, and perseverance.

🐾 We’re thankful for every full food bowl.
🐾 Every tail wag.
🐾 Every application that comes in.
🐾 Every share, donation, kind word, and prayer.
🐾 Every volunteer and supporter who helps carry this mission forward.

Sometimes it’s easy to focus on what’s still broken, what still needs funding, or what still needs fixing. But today we’re choosing to focus on what we’ve been blessed with.

💙 We’d love for you to join us.

What is ONE thing you’re thankful for this week?
It can be something big, something small, or something that simply made you smile.

Drop it in the comments and let’s fill this Sunday with gratitude. 👇🙏

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1 ✝️🐾
