Running a rescue is emotionally exhausting some days. But we always get up and do it, every single day. Lives depend on us.
Today we received a 1-star review because a rescue puppy grew bigger than the estimated adult weight. The puppy is healthy, loved, thriving, but apparently becoming 25 pounds instead of 11 pounds deserved a public attack on our rescue. This is our first review because of a puppys size.
Rescue puppies are not custom-built products. They are not genetically engineered. Many come from unknown backgrounds, mixed breeds, neglect situations, strays, or shelters with little to no history. Weight estimates are exactly that, estimates.
A review like that may seem small to some people, but for rescues it can hurt adoptions, donations, reputation, and ultimately the animals depending on us to survive.
So today, we would love to hear from the people who HAVE had positive experiences with us. ❤️

Meet Hero, a sweet, goofy Mini Bernedoodle looking for his forever family. 🐾❤️
How this boy is still here, we truly do not understand. Hero is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, house trained, wonderful with kids, and has the happiest personality. He loves attention, enjoys being around people, and has that perfect mix of playful energy and cuddle-bug sweetness.
Mini Bernedoodles have become one of the most loved family companions for good reason. They combine the affectionate, gentle nature of the Bernese Mountain Dog with the intelligence and trainability of the Poodle. Being a Mini means much smaller than a standard Bernese. The result is a loyal, loving, smart dog that fits beautifully into family life.
Hero has all the qualities people love about the breed:
🐾 Affectionate and family-oriented
🐾 Intelligent and eager to learn
🐾 Friendly and social
🐾 Playful, goofy personality
🐾 Great with children
🐾 Adaptable for both adventures and lazy couch days
He is the kind of dog who will happily go for walks, follow you around the house, then curl up next to you at the end of the day. Hero just wants to love and be loved.

Scooby is a stunning 110 lb neutered male, Presa Canario (Spanish Mastiff), with strength, presence, and a big loyal heart.
This powerful, charismatic boy commands attention everywhere he goes. Presa Canarios are known for being loyal, intelligent, protective, and devoted companions, and Scooby is no exception. He is the type of dog who thrives with structure, confidence, socialization, and consistent training.
Despite his impressive size, Scooby has an affectionate side and will do best with a family who understands large breeds and can give him the leadership, love, and outdoor activity he deserves.
Scooby is ready for the right home, one that respects his strength and appreciates his loyalty.

🐾❤️ TWO MORE LIVES SAVED TODAY ❤️🐾
These 2 surprise babies got their freedom ride today and are now safe with us at Ricky’s Rascals Animal Rescue. They are 12 week Miniature Pinscher, both boys.
Unfortunately, they were left behind… and honestly, we may never understand why. Because these pups are absolutely PERFECT. 💔
✔️ Healthy
✔️ Playful
✔️ Sweet
✔️ Full of love and puppy kisses
Despite whatever they’ve been through, their tails still wag and they still trust people. That alone says everything about how amazing they are. 🐶❤️
Now it’s our turn to make sure they never feel abandoned again.
