He has the run of the laundry room. We never know where we will find him, but if you wait long enough he will run to flop down in front of you for a pet. LOL

These are the days of rescue you live for.

Back in January of this year Jake was posted on a local county page in front of a Dollar General store. He had gotten away from his owner and since he was in poor body condition, the picture was widely circulated. It was assumed he had been left there but that was not the case. He eventually returned to his owner and our humane agent got involved. He was surrendered to us a few weeks later and the reason for his poor body condition was quickly discovered. He was infested with whipworms and no matter how much food his owner was giving him, it was all in vain.

After being treated for the parasite, and receiving lots of love and great care, Jake flourished into the image you see today.

Today Jake's best day ever happened. The day he will know the love of a family. What an incredible journey.

We would like to not only thank the Wright family for opening up their heart and home to him, but to the family at Premier Boarding of Marengo. They have cared for, loved and cherished this sweet soul for 8 months. Tears were shed but hearts were full with hopes and dreams for his future. Thanks to EVERYONE that has been a part of his journey.
