🐾 Happy National Dog Day from All Star Grooming! 🐾

Our boss may technically be human, but we all know who’s really in charge around here. 😂

Of course, around here pretty much EVERY day is Dog Day… but apparently today it’s official. 😂

Big dogs, little dogs, fluffy dogs, short-haired dogs, young dogs, senior dogs, perfectly behaved dogs and the ones who have opinions about their spa day — we love them all. 🐶

We’re lucky enough to spend our days caring for some pretty amazing dogs, and we love getting to know all the different personalities that walk through our door.

So today we want to see YOUR dogs! 📸

All Star Grooming is collecting school supplies for Highland Elementary, and we’d love for our amazing customers to help us send local students back to school ready to learn! 🐾

📅 Friday, August 28 through Friday, September 4

Bring school supplies with you to your grooming appointment and save:

🎒 Bring in a new backpack — get $10 OFF your groom!

Everything we collect will be donated directly to Highland Elementary to help make sure local students have the supplies they need for a great school year.

📚 Highland Elementary’s school supply list is included with this post, so take a peek when you’re out shopping and grab a few extras if you can!

A couple of notebooks, pencils, crayons or glue sticks might not seem like much, but when a whole community pitches in, those little donations can fill a LOT of backpacks. ❤️

🌻🐾 FUN FACT FRIDAY! 🐾🌻

Since the sunflowers are showing off this time of year, here’s a fun one you might not know…

🐶 Dogs can eat sunflower seeds!

Plain, unsalted, shelled sunflower seeds are safe for most dogs in small amounts and contain vitamin E and healthy fats.

A few sunflower rules for our four-legged friends:
🌻 Skip the shells — they can be hard to digest.
🌻 No salted or flavored seeds.
🌻 A few seeds make a treat…not the whole bag. 😂
🌻 And while the sunflower plant itself is generally considered non-toxic to dogs, eating a bunch of leaves or stems can still cause an upset belly.

So if your dog is eyeing your sunflower snack, you can share a couple — just make sure they’re plain and shelled!

When there aren’t any customer dogs to groom… the groomers will play. 🎀🐩

Good thing the owner’s dog is always willing to volunteer! She LOVES being groomed and will actually jump up on the table asking for her turn.

So while we were waiting for the day’s dogs to arrive, one of our groomers decided she could use a little extra styling. 😂

Apparently around here, an empty grooming table is just an opportunity waiting to happen.

And judging by that face, she’s pretty pleased with the results. ❤️🐾
