With wildfire smoke creating poor air quality across the U.S, the AVMA is reminding the public that wildfire smoke can pose serious health risks not only to people, but to pets and livestock as well.

Smoke from wildfires contains fine particles that can cause respiratory issues in animals, especially those with pre-existing heart or lung disease. 🐾 The Fourth of July is right around the corner! 🐾

Our clinic will be closed on Friday, July 3rd, in observance of the holiday. We will resume normal business hours on Monday, July 6th at 8:00 AM.

With all of the "250th Anniversary" celebrations happening around us, please help keep your dogs and cats safe and stress-free this Independence Day:

🎆 Make sure collars are secure and ID tags are up to date.
📸 Keep recent photos of your pets on your phone in case they become lost.
🏠 Keep pets indoors during fireworks and provide distractions such as toys, music, or TV.
🌭 Be mindful of dangerous cookout foods and keep them out of reach.
✨ Store fireworks and sparklers safely away from curious paws.

🔔 New Service Alert!🔔 Meet Bowie 🐶 Like many dogs, our friend was feeling the effects of allergies and caused himself some ‘lick granulomas’ on his forelimbs.

🐾 Get to know Dr. Kanoza who will be joining us at Lake Country next month! 🩺💙

“My journey in deciding to become a veterinarian began before I started school. Every day, I went to a babysitter while my parents went to work and my older sisters went to school. My sitter at the time had 3 dogs, one of which was the most loveable pug you could ever meet named Putter 🥰 He always let me cart him around in a little grocery cart, stick him in the high chair, follow me around, take naps with me during the day, and would snuggle up next to me while I watched my shows. He was my absolute favorite part of being dropped off at the sitters each day. My love for animals was sparked at that early age spending every day with him and her other dogs, growing a close relationship with them and learning to love them as if they were my own. From then, I realized getting to have that close relationship with animals was what I was passionate about and that nothing else could compare to that feeling of being loved and getting to love an animal.”
