Are you a person who would like a pet, but would prefer not to have to deal with the larger clean-up chores associated with adopting a cat or dog?

We have just the pet for you - handsome CARUSO was found in the area and ended up at the shelter.

He's currently in foster care. Ideally, we think he'd enjoy having another parakeet to entertain and keep company in a home but maybe he'd settle for a human who enjoyed harmonizing and would appreciate his love of singing.

'OWL EYES' was pretty overwhelmed when he first arrived at the shelter. His beautiful amber-green eyes appeared to make up most of his head!! He wasn't sure if he'd be safe or if the cats around him were friend or foe.

Several weeks back, he graduated from the isolation room to the main floor and is ready to be ad❤️pted!

He's a gentle cat and really enjoys attention from the volunteers. He's the companion you didn't know you needed!

'MISS MYRTLE' is one of several young, spunky cats we have available for adoption at the Marblehead Animal Shelter.

She's curious and loves to have fun.......so she's a natural explorer. She's rather confident in herself, even though she's a relative new-comer to the shelter. We expect she'll adapt to new surroundings pretty well.

Visit 44 Village St soon to meet her and others hoping for a forever home.

For more than 30 years, the Marblehead Animal Shelter (Friends of Marblehead's Abandoned Animals) has been giving abandoned, neglected, and homeless animals a second chance through the dedication of Friends of Marblehead's Abandoned Animals (F.O.M.A.A.). This true no-kill shelter is run entirely by volunteers who provide food, medical care, daily enrichment, and, most importantly, love to every animal that comes through their doors.

Whether you're looking to adopt a new best friend, volunteer your time, make a donation, or shop their wish list, every bit of support helps these deserving animals find the loving homes they deserve. The shelter is currently accepting adoption applications and is always looking for compassionate volunteers to join their team.

SASHA is a very personable five-years-young feline.

She was surrendered to the shelter by her owner when they could no longer care for her.

There's no doubt she'll be a fantastic roommate and companion, since she seems to go-with-the-flow with changes in her life. ❤️

POPPY will make a pretty perfect pet!

She raised a litter of kittens earlier this year (and did a GREAT job per her foster family) and now is eager to move from a shelter kennel to a home where she'll be spoiled.

MONKEY is very vocal at the shelter. He's a growing boy and always hungry at feeding time.

He's playful & likes other social cats. He's being as patient as he can while waiting for a person or family to adopt him. He sure would love to stretch his legs in a more spacious place with a family he could 'talk' to.

This adorable cat has had some rough times in her life, but you'd never know it.

She's got a fantastic personality- sweet & gentle and generally low-key - like what many 'tuxedo cat' parents know to be true.

It's a great weekend to make a trip out to Marblehead.
Grab lunch, look-over Marblehead Harbor, Visit Abbot Hall or Marblehead Museum - make a day of it.

Stop-by the shelter Sat 12-5pm or Sun 12-4 (44 Village St.) to visit CARMEN and some other amazing felines.
