For us this is incredible to me how Leah has progressed as a new team doing this 3 months in, let alone from where she started. I love a good before and after story.

This is a new location, new decoy, new scenario with team movement and emotional energy. Everyone being so patient with me and helping me understand what to do, I truly enjoy this community!!

Leah and my daughter both love coming out and practicing doing these things, and the welcoming family inclusion and graciousness is next level.

Timmy IRL over time a bit 🙂

A few things - First, I didn’t expect to be getting physically stronger through this work 💪 training days are also leg, arm, glute and core days 🥵

Also the supportive community these folks bring is hard to find in such an industry, and I am grateful to have stumbled into it.

Finally, Timmy is in his sixth year of training together with me. He’s humbled me, he’s been my ride or die partner down for any spontaneous road trip, he’s scared me half to death catching large animals and breaking out of any crate including impacts, running across interstates, and many more. His outs, call offs, and off leash control were constantly worked on for a reason, although it may not be obvious today 🤓

What we didn’t see was Leah in the background hearing a ruckus about the baby! 😤 What a great weekend at Muddy Paws Boarding & Training with meeting lots of great folks learning & working with Homeland K9, so many great golden nuggets and neat moments and Heather Sotelo handling almost all the filming for me this weekend, thanks to everyone who helped! More to come.

She settles in eventually 🤪 Her walks are a mix of nice loose leash, dragging me, chasing to catch any moving bug whatsoever, and leash tug of war. She’s definitely starting to turn on 😬 🌶️ 🥵

They’ve come a long way, and still have a long way to go. Things can get really out of hand fast with these two, rowdy turned wrong. Neutrality and co-existing with mutual play is what we are after. This takes a lot of time, individual work, and help from others. 🐾
