🍄 Happy National Mushroom Day! 🌲

A little moss, a few mushrooms, and a whole lot of reasons to get outside with your dog.

Trail Moss was inspired by my years exploring Redwood National Park, where the forest floor is full of tiny details worth slowing down to notice.

It’s a reminder that some of the best moments with our dogs happen when we take the long way, follow the trail, and see where the adventure leads.

Here’s to the fungi, the forests, and all the adventures still ahead. 💚

The inspiration behind our third and final Focus Treat Pouch color addition started in rural British Columbia.

Alpenglow is a natural optical phenomenon that casts a soft red, pink, or orange glow on mountain peaks just before sunrise or after sunset.

This color could have been named Poppy Pink, after the frilly pink poppies that grew wild in my grandmother’s garden in Chico, California. But the warm reddish pink called to me for another reason. It reminds me of sunset skies, and that took me back to my time living in rural Atlin, British Columbia. I still remember the first time I saw alpenglow there, when the peaks of Atlin Mountain, covered in early-season snow, were bathed in a warm glow.

This is the color you’ll find on my hip most often. It’s for people who want a pop of color in their dog training gear, something bright and cheerful with a touch of whimsy.

I’ve been fascinated with mushrooms, moss, and lichen ever since my Aunt Maryann showed me how to make spore prints in fifth grade. In 8th grade, my Uncle Rick gave me my first camera, and I took it on a camping trip to Alaska. Hiking near Haines, I stumbled across a bright purple mushroom, and I’ve been photographing them ever since.

This Trail Moss fabric is woven from ocean-bound and post-consumer plastic. The deep, earthy greens with threads of vibrant yellow-green remind me of the lichen and moss in the old growth forests of the Pacific Northwest.

This treat pouch was made for people who love to train as much as they love the outdoors.

I’m so excited to be bringing this new color collection to life. Each color holds special significance for me, inspired by growing up on the west coast.

First up: Golden Hour.

This one comes from my love of photography. I grew up with three professional photographers in the family, which meant we were always chasing the right light and catching candid moments. I spent my childhood in front of my Grandma Bea’s camera, which I’m pretty sure planted the seeds for my love of theatre and being comfortable in front of a crowd.

That hour just before sunset is still my favorite time to train or hike with my dogs. The light is soft, the day slows down, and the best moments with your dog tend to happen when nobody’s forcing them. Golden Hour is the color I wanted in my hand for those sessions.

Wow! What an honor to be recognized by Pet Boss Nation!

I don’t have words to describe how I’m feeling in this moment. Seeing a product idea become a full blown brand with a booth at SuperZoo is honestly a dream come true. I can’t wait to get my treat pouch into new stores and get feedback on my new products from retailers this week.

This harness/leash/collar line is so close to being ready for retail - I can’t believe how fast this vision came to fruition! Not without a lot of work, blood, sweat and tears! But today, they are happy tears!
