A Canine Experience

A Canine Experience 1+ hr hikes/swims in small curated groups, boarding, basic training. Positive methods only! This keeps your pup, mine, and my guest dogs safe and healthy.

We take dog and human-friendly pups who are up to date on vaccinations (including Leptospirosis and Bordatella) and on year-round, vet-prescribed flea/tick/heartworm meds. We DO NOT take raw fed dogs (risk of serious transmissible disease to my dog and family), brachycephalic dogs (cannot breathe well enough to safely exercise), intact adult dogs (juvenile/adolescent may be okay but notify me firs

t for a trial). We offer size/breed/temperament compatible groups of 2-3 dogs the opportunity for supervised off-leash play and on-leash swims and hikes through fields and woods. We practice trail manners and recall on every hike.

Handsome Hudson is a new camper! He’s a big boy who was a little anxious to leave his mom on his first outing, but luckily found his very own Emotional Support Stick to soothe his nerves. He was paired with his friend, Camp Counselor Auggie, for his first day of camp.
Hudson is looking forward to more adventures with his retriever friends, including some swimming, in the future. Plus, he thinks it’s too hot and will really appreciate the cooler fall weather.

Welcome to Zoey, a new training client. Zoey was recently adopted and is VERY anxious. Zoey fears almost everything in her environment and suffers the dog version of panic attacks often.

While her devoted family is working on getting her the right anti-anxiety meds, she has started hikes with us and has met Camp Counselor Auggie so far. We are working on being gentle, slow movements, predictability, lots of praise and treats, and allowing her as much agency as possible.

She’s starting to feel more comfortable already. We have a handful of training goals for Zoey, all focused on her mental & physical health and meeting her breed-specific needs. Hiking and being free in nature is a huge part of getting her there!

We have been hiking with dogs for years now but have made the exciting decision to add cat hikes to our roster.

These will be separate from our dog hikes and will take place in a nearby, cat-friendly nature preserve.

Get your cat off the sofa and into the woods where they can get in touch with their inner wild cat.
