Hogan stopped by for a tech appointment to get his nails trimmed! 🐾✂️
Fun fact: Hogan is considered a brachycephalic dog due to his shorter muzzle! Breeds and mixes with “flat-faced” features, like Hogan’s American Bulldog & American Staffordshire Terrier mix, can be more sensitive to heat, especially during the summer months. ☀️😮💨
Of course, all pets should stay cool and hydrated during warm weather, but brachycephalic pets can have an even harder time regulating their body temperature because of their shortened airways. 💙
To help keep pets safe this summer:
💧 Provide plenty of fresh water
🌤 Offer shade and cool resting areas
🚶♂️ Plan walks during cooler morning or evening hours
🚫 Never leave pets in parked cars
Watch for signs of overheating like excessive panting, drooling, weakness, or lethargy.
