Meet Frankenfurter and Halloweiner, two approximately 8-month-old pups who are still figuring out this whole people are friends, not monsters thing. They haven’t had much experience with the good life just yet, so they can be a little shy and unsure when meeting new humans. But give them some time, patience, and a gentle approach, and their sweet sides start to peek out. Once they feel comfortable, they really do enjoy attention! 🥹❤️

These little spooks aren’t looking for haunted houses or big, scary adventures just yet. They need quiet, patient foster homes where they can decompress, settle in, and learn that the world isn’t such a frightening place after all. Think soft beds, predictable routines, gentle encouragement, and absolutely zero pressure to be social butterflies overnight.

😸 Well, hello there! I’m Fun Gus, your future foster-fail! 😸

Hi, hoomans! My name is Fun Gus, and I’m about 5 months old, ridiculously fluffy, aggressively adorable, and equipped with a purr motor that may or may not violate local noise ordinances. 😹

My origin story? I was just minding my own business when I decided to follow a nice little human to school. Turns out, school is not a suitable long-term housing arrangement for a kitten (rude!), so I ended up at the shelter instead. And now? I’m looking for a foster home where I can put my many talents to good use.

What talents, you ask? EXCELLENT question.

✨ Professional cuddle enthusiast ✨ Expert attention demander ✨ Champion of being soft and fluffy ✨ Owner of a purr so loud you may mistake me for a tiny, furry diesel engine

I love people, I love snuggles, and I firmly believe that if your hands are free, they should be petting me. I have a lot of love to give and absolutely no concept of personal space. 💕

Now, full disclosure: my adorable little ear flaps have some crusty lesions that could be ringworm, so I’ll need further diagnostics and treatment to figure out what’s going on. I may need a little extra TLC and some temporary separation from other pets while we get answers. But hey, even superstars need a checkup! 🩺

Safe in Rescue

We just received a cat and her 4 kittens that are in need of an urgent transfer. The babies have been diagnosed with suspected cerebellar hypoplasia and are supposed to receive meds three times daily. We do not have staff here to do that, so they need to get out to a rescue partner that can place them in a foster home that can give these meds.

Rescue Partner - Placement Help Needed! (details on dogs are under their bio pics in the Dog Album - Plus, see Animal First)

We are in dire need of rescue placements for the pets currently in our care. We have 35 animals in the building right now — 18 dogs and 17 cats, with 22 currently available for transfer to rescue.

The ongoing construction noise and chaos are really starting to take a toll, especially on our dogs. Some are struggling mentally with the environment, and getting them out into quieter, more comfortable settings is becoming increasingly important.
We also have a LOT of really nice, friendly kitties who are still waiting for their rescue opportunity!

We know everyone is stretched thin and that foster homes can be hard to come by. If your rescue doesn't have foster space available right now, would you be able to help with vetting for any of our available pets? Even if you can't take an animal into your program immediately, assistance with vetting could help us move pets closer to their next step and open up opportunities for placement.

Any help makes a difference, whether it's taking a dog or cat into your program, helping with vetting, or sharing the post with others who may be able to assist.
