These cats are in need of Rescue! Unless otherwise noted, they are releasable immediately. They are located in Maple Grove, MN. PUPS does not do adoptions to the public, please do not contact the shelter unless you have lost or found a pet, or are the intake person for a rescue organization. Corvus (8137) ~4 year old, intact male.

Meet Corvus

Corvus is a handsome, big-cheeked black tomcat who was brought to the shelter yesterday after being found as a stray. Despite everything he's been through, Corvus has shown us a sweet and gentle nature. He's understandably shy in the shelter environment, but he leans into affection and seems eager to trust the people caring for him.

Corvus arrived with several medical concerns, including a laceration to his right ear pinna and significant damage to his right eye. He has been evaluated by a veterinarian and is currently receiving antibiotics and pain medication. While he is stable, he requires ongoing monitoring and supportive care beyond what we are able to provide in the shelter setting.

Because of his medical needs, Corvus is in urgent need of rescue placement. We would love to see him safely transferred into a rescue today before the long holiday weekend, where he can continue receiving the attention and treatment he deserves. The city has approved an early release to facilitate placement.


Corvus has already endured life on the streets. Now he needs a rescue partner willing to give this sweet boy the chance to heal, recover, and finally know the comfort and security of a loving home.

Meet Ranger, a ridiculously handsome gentleman who appears to have missed the memo that he's supposed to have a home. He came to us with a microchip, but despite our best efforts, we haven't been able to reach his former owners. Their loss may just be your gain.

Ranger is the total package: friendly, polite, and blessed with movie-star looks. He's done well with other dogs and seems to prefer the role of "cool guy at the party" rather than "chaotic social director."

In short, Ranger is the kind of dog who seems to have his life mostly figured out—he just needs a couch, a family, and someone to tell him how handsome he is at least three times a day.

Meet Nori

Nori is a sweet Shiba Inu who was found as a stray in a severely emaciated condition. She is now safe with us and has started a careful refeeding plan. The good news is that she is responding well and beginning her journey toward recovery.

Despite everything she has been through, Nori is incredibly friendly and gentle with people. She especially enjoys being held and seems to find comfort in close human contact. She soaks up attention and affection as if she’s making up for lost time.

Nori tolerates other dogs, but she prefers her own space and would likely thrive best in a calm environment where she doesn’t feel pressured to interact too much with canine companions.

What Nori needs now is a patient, dedicated foster home that can continue her healing journey—someone who understands the importance of slow, steady weight gain and can offer her both structure and comfort. In return, she offers quiet companionship, trust, and a very grateful heart.

With the right care, Nori has every chance to regain her strength and rediscover the happy, confident dog she is meant to be.

Lady Penelope Van Toebeans is the social butterfly of the pair, always ready to greet new friends and accept the admiration she so clearly deserves. Baroness Von Hairball is a bit more reserved, preferring to assess the situation before granting an audience. Once comfortable, however, she's every bit as sweet and affectionate as her companion.

While they don't need to foster together, they seem to enjoy each other's company and coexist quite peacefully. Both are calm, gentle girls looking for a foster home where they can put their difficult past behind them and return to the comfortable lifestyle to which they were clearly accustomed.

Meet Hershey

Hershey has had a rough road lately. He was first found as a stray and, after being reunited with his owner, was ultimately surrendered when they were no longer able to care for him.

One look at Hershey tells the story. His coat is severely matted, and the discomfort has led to a secondary skin infection. He's already been seen by a veterinarian and has started antibiotics, but he will likely need a sedated shave and possibly some follow-up care as he continues to heal.

Despite everything he's been through, Hershey has been very friendly with our staff and has enjoyed the attention and care he's receiving. We have been told that he can be uncomfortable around children, particularly when food is involved. Given the pain and stress he has likely been experiencing, it's difficult to know how much of that behavior may be related to his current condition, but we feel he would do best in a calm foster home without young children while he recovers.

Right now, Hershey doesn't need much—just a safe place to rest, heal, and be reminded that people can be kind. With some patience, comfort, and medical care, we think this sweet boy has brighter days ahead.
