It's National Veterinary Technician Week, and we're celebrating the incredible veterinary technicians who make such a difference in the lives of our patients.

Their skills, knowledge, compassion and ability to think on their feet are essential to the care we provide every day. They advocate for patients, support our doctors, comfort worried families and handle some of the most challenging moments in veterinary medicine.

To our AERC veterinary technicians: We see you, we appreciate you, and we're so glad you're part of this team. Thank you for all you do! ❤️

🖤🐈‍⬛ **A LITTLE HALLOWEEN PAUSE FOR OUR BLACK CATS** 🐈‍⬛🖤

As Halloween approaches, we want to make sure all of our cats are going into homes for the right reasons and that their safety and well being always come first.

For this reason, from October 13, 2026 through October 31, 2026, we will **not be adopting out cats who are 50% or more black**.

This is simply a temporary precaution during the Halloween season. Our black and mostly black cats are still available to meet, receive lots of love and attention, and accept applications they just won't be going home during this period. 🖤

We know these beautiful kitties are just as deserving of loving homes as every other cat, and we can't wait to see them find their forever families once the pause is over!

Thank you for understanding and for always helping us put the safety and well being of our animals first. 🐾🖤
