Yesterday, Nalia joined me for a trip to Fool’s Kava House, and she showed everyone exactly what good manners can look like.

She calmly relaxed inside the café, greeted people politely, accepted pets, ignored distractions, and even spent time around another dog. No jumping. No pulling. No barking. Just quietly existing and enjoying the experience.

Halfway through, she earned herself a pup cup, and after finishing it off, settled in for a nice little nap.

One of my favorite parts of training is helping dogs learn that they don’t always have to be “doing” something. Sometimes the goal is simply being calm, relaxed, and able to enjoy the world around them.

Thank you to Fool's Kava House for being such a dog-friendly spot. We always enjoy visiting, and the pups love it too! 🐾

Remember the dreams you had when you brought your dog home?

The peaceful walks.
The dog that comes when called.
The dog that can relax beside you at a restaurant, park, or family gathering.

The good news? Those dreams don’t have to stay dreams.

Most behavior struggles aren’t because your dog is stubborn. They’re often the result of unclear communication and inconsistent expectations.

When dogs understand what we’re asking, life becomes easier for everyone.

A little training. A little consistency. A lot of communication.

That’s where the magic happens.

May was full of new faces, returning friends, big wins, and lots of learning.

From puppies learning their first commands to dogs working through real-world distractions, every dog that comes through Jack’s Pack has a unique journey. Watching owners put in the work and seeing dogs gain confidence, freedom, and understanding never gets old.

Thank you to everyone who trusted me with your dogs this month. I can’t wait to see what June brings!

Meet Dallas. 🐾

Dallas joined me for the day to continue working on quicker obedience responses, leash walking, and overall consistency. He’s the definition of a laid-back, go-with-the-flow type of dog, which honestly makes him adorable… but also means he can sometimes move at his own pace when distractions are happening around him. 😂

Dogs all learn differently. Some dogs are naturally high drive and fast-paced, while others need more motivation, repetition, and accountability to respond consistently and promptly.

Today was all about helping Dallas understand that commands still matter even when life is busy around him. We worked on engagement, follow-through, and cleaner obedience while out and about.

And honestly… this squish face made the entire day better. ❤️

Holly is back for a little refresher training day and park trip. 🌳🐾

One thing I always remind clients is that training is not a one-time event. Especially with young dogs, energetic breeds, and dogs going through different life stages, consistency matters.

Holly has already learned so much, but continued practice around distractions helps keep those skills reliable in the real world. Today we focused on leash walking, engagement around distractions, and maintaining calm behavior at the park.

I love being able to offer options for my clients — whether that’s boarding, refresher training days, private lessons, or just extra support when life gets busy. Sometimes dogs simply need continued structure and practice to stay successful.

Holly did awesome today. 💛

Naila is settling into boarding and training life while learning how to better navigate the world around her. 💛

As a newer rescue, there’s always an adjustment period while dogs learn routines, expectations, and how to communicate appropriately in their new homes. Nails is a sweet girl with a lot of personality, but because of her hip issues, it’s important that we help her slow down the chaos and make safer choices physically.

One of the things we’re working on is impulse control and understanding boundaries around her canine sibling at home. Her playmate is more submissive and doesn’t always tell her when enough is enough, so Naila tends to take advantage of that excitement. We’re helping her learn calmer interactions, better obedience, and how to settle instead of constantly escalating energy.

Training isn’t just about commands. Sometimes it’s about helping dogs learn how to live more successfully and comfortably in everyday life. Proud of this girl already. 🐾

Where we started vs. where we are now with Sarge ❤️🐾

Early on, Sarge used his teeth to communicate through a lot of situations. He struggled with boundaries, handling stress appropriately, and understanding how to relax and exist calmly in the world around him.

Fast forward to now…

We have a dog who can walk nicely through stores, sit politely, handle being pet appropriately, listen better to guidance, and exist much more calmly and confidently in public.

And honestly, that’s huge.

Training is never just about “fixing” behaviors overnight. It’s about building communication, trust, confidence, structure, and enough repetition that dogs start making better choices naturally.

This may be the end of Sarge’s training program, but it’s definitely not the end of our journey together. He’ll continue coming back for refreshers, socialization outings, and opportunities to keep practicing the skills his owners may not always have the ability to work on consistently themselves.

So proud of this guy and all the work his family has put in ❤️

If you’re struggling with your dog’s behavior, reactivity, socialization, confidence, or obedience, I’d love to help.

‘Twas the days before summer break,
And all through Jack’s Pack,
The kennels were spotless…
Too calm, in fact 👀🐾

The floors are still clean.
The toy bins are full.
The water bowls sparkle.
The barking? Minimal.

But not for long 😂

Tomorrow officially kicks off summer boarding season, and this quiet little kennel room is about to turn into zoomies, splashing pools, couch naps, muddy paws, early morning potty breaks, happy tails, and dogs becoming part of the pack ❤️

Honestly… I can’t wait.

If you still need boarding for your summer trips, now is the time to reach out because spots are filling FAST ☀️🐶

Took my two dogs, Bentley and Scarlett, to the vet today 🐾

And honestly, moments like this always remind me why I love training so much.

No excessive panting.
No trying to bolt out the door.
No panic.
No dragging me around the lobby.
No fear of the vet staff.

Just two calm, confident dogs relaxing and trusting me to guide them through the situation safely.

Training is so much more than teaching a dog to sit. It’s about helping them learn how to exist calmly and confidently in the world around them.

If your dog struggles in public, at the vet, around distractions, or in stressful environments, I’d love to help ❤️

It is with great excitement that I announce my sweet foster, Oliver, has been adopted.

I brought Oliver home when the freeze him to help lower the dogs at the rescue. After 5 days I couldn’t imagine Oliver going back after such progress in a short time. I thought for sure he would be adopted quickly. He was waiting for the PERFECT family. They are amazing pup parents and he has fur siblings!!!

Yay Ollie! So happy for you!
