Poppy (L) has been adopted! She and her new sister Bailey are getting along well, and Poppy absolutely loves snuggling with her new humans!

Scotty has been adopted! He is now known as Scotty Valentine-his new mom says he was her Valentine’s gift this year. He likes to spend lots of time in the backyard on squirrel patrol and of course, napping on his cozy bed.

We just love a happy update! DFW BB alum Rory's dad wrote and said, "She’s definitely the most lovable companion I could have ever asked for. Never received so many kisses, she’s a little lover for sure! I’m blessed and fortunate to have her in my life. One major change has been in the inclusion of her sister Lola. Lola was a stray that ended up in my yard back in June and I tried to foster her out but her and Rory got along pretty quickly and as time passed I decided to keep her. So Rory has a sister now! Rory definitely gets jealous at times but it’s part of her big personality 🤣"

So, how do your beagles feel about the snow? Shelby was excited to go out but wanted back in pretty quick. The couch under a blanket is more her speed in this cold.

We’re saddened to share news of the passing of DFW BB alum Bluebonnet, now Bella.

Her family adopted her in 2015 and says, “She had been a wonderful and faithful companion for us. Thank you for allowing us to adopt her and giving us one of the most loving dogs we have ever had the pleasure of having. Our years with her were not enough, but I know we were her everything and that she was truly loved from the moment she stepped her paws into our lives. The pictures below were all taken in the last few months after we moved into our new home. Bella loved this new house so much because of the artificial grass that we put in. We would sit outside for hours while she laid on the warm turf. If she wasn’t on the turf, she was always doing her best Snoopy impersonation on the back of the couch.”

You’ll likely remember Regina George (now Violet), the Beagle we rescued in December 2024 after she was hit by a car and severed her spine. She spent last Christmas recovering from surgery and learning how to walk again. Her adopter sent this wonderful update, “I wanted to share Violet's Christmas this year. It is a far cry from last year. She got to enjoy a Christmas stocking with her sister Maisy and some treats send from her doggie cousin Nadya.”

Thank you to everyone who helped support us in giving her many more wonderful holidays!

We got such a great response about Poppy, we wanted to give Scotty the same chance! Although we’ve had many folks reach out, none have been the right fit yet. Scotty is around six years old and despite probably having a tough start in life, has grown into the most loving dog you could hope to meet. He has a lot of energy so he would be perfect for anyone from a dynamic family to an active senior. He loves playing with other dogs and putting his hound powers into action-if you’ve ever wanted a dog who would excel at scent work, Scotty can track a squirrel from three blocks over. DFW BB alum Lulu sadly crossed the rainbow bridge this week. Her family shared this sweet photo and said,“Lulu had mammary cancer and a heart murmur. She was the light of our lives and we will miss her greatly. R.I.P sweet girl. Thank you for trusting us to be her and Izzy’s forever home.”

Sweet Poppy is still looking for her forever home! This senior gal is friendly, cuddly, and a great companion. She’s low maintenance and just wants to be with her people. She’s good with other dogs and an all around great Beagirl!
