Today is , a reminder that knowing how to save a life—especially our furry friends—can make all the difference. While having to administer CPR to your pet can be terrifying, being prepared can help you act calmly and confidently in an emergency.

Stay Calm:
1️⃣ Breathe: Take a few deep breaths to steady yourself. Focus on the feeling of the air filling your lungs.
2️⃣ Delegate: If there are bystanders, assign them tasks like finding the nearest emergency vet.
3️⃣ Focus: Keep your mind clear. Concentrate on the steps ahead and stay in the moment.

When to Start CPR:
🐾 Your pet isn’t responding
🐾 Your pet isn’t breathing
🐾 You can’t feel a heartbeat or pulse

How to Perform CPR:
Compressions:
❤️ Position your pet on their side.
❤️ Deliver 120 compressions per minute (2 per second).
❤️ For every 30 compressions, give 2 breaths.

Breaths:
❤️ Close your pet’s mouth and seal it with your fingers.
❤️ Cover their nose with your mouth and give 2 breaths—enough to make their chest rise.
❤️ Check for a heartbeat after 2 minutes. If there’s no pulse, continue.

When to Stop CPR:
🐾 Your pet starts breathing and responding
🐾 You reach the vet clinic and they take over
🐾 You can’t continue physically
🐾 Your pet starts breathing but is still unconscious

Recovery Position:
Place your pet’s head to the side, slightly tilting down (unless there’s head trauma).

Compression Techniques:
🐶 Medium to Large Dogs: Compress one third of the chest depth.
🐱 Small Dogs/Cats: Use your thumb and fingers for compression, or compress directly over the heart.

Stay prepared and know that you can make a difference in your pet's life! ❤️

While the rescue is on hold we still have many return and thousands of community surrender requests.. we are attempting to help and Dempsey is a very easy placement.

Due to personal family emergency his family has asked us to find him a new forever home -

He is 3 years old, neutered, about 20 pounds, up to date on all his vaccinations and also up to date on his heartworm meds - Dempsey is a mini schnauzer mix who is good with kids , dogs and the cats he lives with ( however he has a very high prey drive, so we cannot guarantee he would be OK with new cats)
He is extremely high energy and NOT A LAP DOG !!! He is looking for an active family and an active fur buddy !!!

You can email us at [email protected] for more info on Dempsey 🙏🏽

To My Fur Parents ...

Leave me at home during the heat of the summer or the day. It’s not nice for me to run or walk next to you. But because I am a loyal dog, I often go beyond my limits. And so I run beside you, stand still if I must. And feel my paws burn. I look at you for a moment, but you don’t understand. Because in 5 minutes, we will be at the cool puddle, right? But those 5 little minutes can now just be fatal for me. Because I sweat through my legs, and this heat just can’t reach it. I cook from the inside, but I keep going.....
And so I end up on the asphalt. In the heat and in the sun. With my tongue out of my mouth and my eyes blinking in the sun. My legs burned, my tongue dry and my head pounding from the heat that my body can’t get rid of....I end up overheated and burn my paws 🐶😢

Don’t brand the paw print!
Let your dog enjoy the sun, with a large bowl of water, a place in the shade. And best of all, preferably a cool patch of grass.

Look who’s here!
Phat and Echo… Phat is the black kiddo, Echo is the white Baby… he is deaf…
Story… I saw where someone was wanting to rehome this deaf puppy… They had rescued him… So I said have the Adopters contact me and I will help them with Training… if it’s their first death dog they might struggle…
The short of the story is, they contacted me… Nice young couple who already had Phat. I offered to go to their home to have a session with their baby and show them what to do for basic training.
As it turns out… They were going on a trip to her grandma‘s funeral, asked if I would board the two kiddos… I said certainly and I will work with echo… So here they are… echo is my fourth deaf dog to train…
As some of you know, my personal dog is deaf Apollo, my great Dane ..
I also have a deaf puppy that I rescued in my kennel who is ready for a home…
I am enjoying Phat and Echo!!!

DID YOU KNOW?

Polydactyly in horses refers to the congenital condition where a horse is born with an extra digit, or "supernumerary digit," on one or both feet. While rare, it's the most common type of congenital limb malformation in horses. The extra digit is usually located on the medial side of the forelimb, but can also occur on the pelvic limb or bilaterally.
