Some of you may know Antigone as the candle slingin’ badass over at Skye Candle Co. in Manitou! What you may not know is she recently discovered she has a brain tumor (for the second time) and is about to undergo surgery. I’d love to see the community rally around this incredible human being and show some support in any way possible. If financial support isn’t an option but you make a mean batch of cookies (or any homemade goodies/meals) I’m happy to pick them up and deliver to her. Life is incredibly unfair sometimes. Good Dog is looking for an experienced, dependable groomer to join our team.

This is a commission-based position, offering a great work-life balance while maintaining a steady book of business.

Why Good Dog?

We’re a small, locally owned grooming salon that focuses on a calm, personalized grooming experience. Unlike high-volume salons, we schedule dogs individually and do not have multiple dog families in the shop at the same time. Dogs are only in the salon while they are being groomed, creating a low-stress environment for both pets and groomers.

You’ll work independently in your own space and be the only groomer in the salon during your scheduled shifts. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, takes pride in their craft, and values quality over quantity.

Good Dog is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and LGBTQ+ friendly environment for both employees and clients.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of professional dog grooming experience (excluding bather-only time)
• Strong breed-standard and pet grooming skills
• Dependable, punctual, and professional
• Comfortable working independently
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Passion for providing exceptional care and grooming experiences

What We Offer:

The other half (the much smarter half) of Good Dog is my wife, Briana. In just 10 years, we have lived in 3 states. Owned 2 houses. Acquired a lot of debt. Paid off a lot of debt. Reconnected with important people. Welcomed the two most incredible children into the world. Started a business. This business that you all have supported from DAY ONE. I’m eternally grateful for all of you! While it’s never been easy, it’s always been rewarding with Briana by my side. She is my good luck charm, my best friend, the only one I’d want to do all of this with. Here’s to many more decades with you by my side! 🥂💘
