Eva Burrell Animal Shelter Quality of life shelter enriching, impacting changing lives one by one. Kindness matters. All animals in our care receive socializing in order to be adopted .

The Eva Burrell Animal Shelter is a 'quality of life' animal shelter in Manistique, Michigan, serving homeless, displaced, loveable cats and dogs in Schoolcraft County. MISSION STATEMENT: The Eva Burrell Animal Shelter (EBAS) believes that it has the ability and power to effect change one animal at a time. It is our goal to be worthy of their lives to be enriched by their presence and not to miss the lessons they teach. We pledge to educate, to lead by example, to learn, to help when and where we can, to be diligent in our fundraising, and to be worthy of the trust placed in us. Fundraisers are continual each year, with some favorites being done repeatedly. We operate on a donation basis, with the County Board, City Council, and some Townships contributing a small portion each year towards the operating expenses of the animal shelter. The shelter building was opened in 1999, built by volunteers with donated material. All adopted cats and dogs are spayed or neutered; all cats and kittens are tested for feline leukemia and microchipped. All animals have been de-wormed and have had initial vaccinations. We welcome volunteers, both young and old. We always need 'walkers' for exercising the dogs, and laps for kitties to sit and nap on. And we always need donations, be it in money, food, kitty litter, treats, bedding, if unsure contact the Shelter. Compassion is paramount in Sheltering.

The puppies got tuckered out easily but our Spot enjoyed his walk. Happy Friday everyone.

It's been a wild kinda day at the Shelter. Unfortunately we have to add that the 7 felines we took in today leaves us with literally no room to intake. We are at capacity for felines. Our fosters are as well. What does that mean, it simply means we can't intake any more felines now. We can assist with food, we can put you on a list, we know it's upsetting and inconvenient but this is the reality of too many animals and not enough homes. As soon as the situation changes we absolutely will update. Thank you 🐾. Please understand we didn't create the situation but are doing our best to effectively manage it

Please share. Josie is so ready for her forever home. Not at the Shelter, still with her training people. Make sure to call them.

Throw it again? Please? Josie is waiting for her perfect fit! That fit would involve fetch, adventures, car rides, and plenty of time with her person. ❤️ She’s about 1 1/2yr and a smart adventurous gal! She’d do best in a home with shepherd experience or someone willing to keep up with her training.

These kittens are obsessed with any wand toy we dangle in front of them. They love to play and greet people coming in. Their personalities are starting to shine through and are such a wonderful bunch 🐾

Newberry area. Not at the shelter. If interested please call 906-322-0150. Stray that has been well loved and helped by people who have taken him in

He is an adorable, loving, calm cat. The vet guessed him to be between 1 and 2 years old. He obeys when called or motioned to come. Uses the litter box and does not meow much.
Plus he gets along with other cats of which I have 6. I would keep him but I plan on moving and cannot take him.
