Do you see the resemblance? Maybe I just have seen too many kid movies. This rooster is now named Klaus Kickenklober after Johnny's instructor off the movie Sing 2. I love him!

Thore found his way to our home today! He is such a sweet young fellow! He is being picked up to go to another young flock with other white silkie hens. He is just too cute not to share! What a sweet house guest, we were going to run him to the drop off, but he will be picked up pretty early so he is spending the night. Im interested in learning how silkies were created, as well as the frizzled feathered breeds. The more I get at the drop off the more I like the breed. We only had one that was a bit aggressive over the years, the rest have been pretty sweet. πŸ“

I have lots more people following a long so I thought I would tell you all what I do again! I offer a rooster drop off to help prevent roosters from being dumped in random places. Im happy to help everyone if your not sure what to do with your roosters for any reason. I do welcome ducks and other birds as well. I take the time to get everybody fit into the proper placement. I am aways receiving requests for different roosters. Some people want docile roosters, any breed. Some people want pure bred roosters for breeding projects. Some people want strictly organic fed and no antibiotics or vaccinations. Some people only want ones that have been vaccinated. I have families with out kids that are willing to take more aggressive roosters for flock protection. People request roosters of different ages. I get asked so many other requests in finding the right fit it definitely takes some time to find the perfect rooster for some people, but it's the best feeling when I do! There are times I don't get the breed desired in but will keep my eyes open. I even have a special needs pad for special needs roosters and hens. Have you ever seen chickens in 3D printed wheelchairs? I now have and are working on getting more printed. That sounds pretty out there but I assure you there are many people that care so much for these special needs chickens with the best care and it will melt your heart. Together we have started many batchlor pads of ducks, geese, and roosters around the valley. Each batchlor pads is tailored to the needs of each family as well. Some are broke down by breed or size. Many people are surprised to learn that roosters get along so well with no hens around, they are beautiful to look at, they help with bug control, and if you have a neighbor your not to fond of you can feel great about rescuing roosters and annoying them at the same time. I love the opportunity to talk with so many people. My kiddos are learning so many new things running the drop off. Each day they feed and water the animals, they enjoy talking to the families about the roosters and offering the most random advice. It truly is a blessing that Sarah let's us run the drop off from her property.
I do have a few reasons why I may need to cull a rooster that comes to the drop off. Some roosters come too sick or injured to heal, we always try our best to help them recover, sometimes culling is the most humane option to end their suffering. Fighting roosters are an instant cull, I have caught some with razors imbeded in their legs and gotten cut landing in the hospital, that was scarry. Also a huge reason we take the time to know who the birds are going to. Another reason to cull would be if the rooster is extremely aggressive towards adults. If there are a aggressive, that's fine and they can go to one of our predator homes to protect the hens, but if they are extremely aggressive to attack adults then if I place them into a predator home and that rooster gets brought back then I know he needs to be dinner. We don't have that happen often. One other incident was I had a family bring me a whole bunch of cornish crosses, they had a family emergency and had to go out-of-state right away the weekend before they planned to butcher. I did process all of their birds for them and was able to bring them their meat once they got back home. I did not want all their efforts to go to waist. After doing extensive health checks on some of the birds that come through we can get them into our special needs pads if its determined they can still live a good quality of life. I love that, its one of our newer additions for our program. We do go through a ton of feed and any donations to help cover the cost is much appreciated, I have my venmo link in my bio as well as a cash box at the drop off. If you ever have any questions feel free to ask! I have other stories posted down on my page. Unless a scheduled carpool drop off we will be accepting roosters Tuesdays and Thursdays until December 1st. I will be contacting people who have inquired once the perfect fit comes in! Thank you to everyone who gose out of their way to carpool roosters for others, and everyone who brings roosters to the drop off and to those who give them new homes, I very much appreciate you all so very much! I really enjoy offering this resource to everyone from all around.

This Saturday and Sunday I do have pre-arranged carpools scheduled for pick up and drop offs. If you need to drop your rooster this weekend I'm happy to take him. After this I will be sticking to Tuesdays and Thursdays for drop offs until December 1st for the most part, unless we had talked about a car pool already, then your still good, I will still meet when needed.
We are also planning a fall festival fundraiser at the drop off! We will have some fun games for the family, kids crafts, pumpkins from Sarah's patch, apple c***r donuts, warm drinks, cozy gift basket raffles, a petting zoo and so much more! I will have more details about the event soon! Fall is my favorite time of the year, Im very excited about this event, Im looking forward to meeting new people, everyone will be welcome!
