Late last night, a kindhearted couple spotted this sweet kitty wandering around and safely took her in for the night.
First thing this morning, they brought their little mystery guest to our hospital to see if she was microchipped.

The moment of truth? SCAN... BEEP! 🎉

Thanks to that tiny microchip (and up-to-date contact info!), we were able to connect with the owner right away and get this kitty headed back home where she belongs. What could have been days or weeks of searching turned into an instant happy ending!

Odette’s story is a powerful reminder that even indoor pets can slip out in an instant, and they often end up much closer to home than we realize.

Despite being lost for a month just half a block away—and facing the constant danger of local coyotes—Odette survived and was thankfully found in good health, aside from a little weight loss. Her safe return was made possible when a kind stranger brought her to a nearby clinic to be scanned. Because Odette’s microchip was properly registered to our practice, that clinic was able to call us directly, making seamless vet-to-vet communication the ultimate bridge home.
