A few weeks ago, a sweet kitten was brought into our clinic by an incredible client. The kitten had been through more than most with her little leg being badly injured. The leg was beyond repair, and the poor kitten was in need of amputation. Unfortunately, she was also severely anemic, meaning she had an extremely low red blood cell count. This increased surgical and anesthetic risk significantly. It was not an easy decision, but we felt that the only way to save her was to amputate the leg.

Luckily for us, she was strong. She was making biscuits and getting around the same day after surgery. Within 24 hours, her red blood cell count had rebounded tremendously, getting over her anemia. For the past couple of weeks, she has become a favorite with our staff, and is the most loving girl you could ever meet. Now our little “Sparrow” is getting adopted! She is finally getting a home of her own.

Some stories may start out rough, but they can still end beautifully.
