Gunner is here today for arthritis and cancer support, and he is such a sweet boy. His coat is gorgeous, he is moving well for a 13-year-old dog, and most importantly..he’s happy.

That is always the goal.

Today is National Holistic Pet Day 🌿🐾.. which I’m sure you can imagine is a big deal to me🤩

Holistic medicine has never meant “alternative” medicine. It means looking at the whole animal. Nutrition. Pain. Mobility. Gut health. Skin. Stress. Environment. Lifestyle. And yes, acupuncture, herbs, food therapy and rehabilitation when they are appropriate.

It means asking why, not just treating what we see on the surface.

After 26 years in veterinary medicine, I still believe some of the best care happens when we use every tool we have and treat the animal in front of us as an individual.

So to all my patients out there… thank you for letting me love you, learn from you and be a small part of your healing. You are the reason I fell in love with this medicine in the first place. ❤️

Sandy & Danny, several decades after Rydell High. She still wears the shiny pants but he no longer smokes because Sandy won’t let him. The chills that are “multiplyin” are most likely due to menopause. But hey, they are still going strong😂.

Everything I ever loved about animals I probably learned from my parents. Last night I walked into their house and their dog Gucci was curled up with her stuffie. My dad was in the back of the house throwing cat nipped filled toys to the friendly cat in bed with my mom. He had built a little fort situation to let the nervous cat play with her cat nip toy ☠️😂. I have watched them love and care for their own animals and stray animals and wildlife my whole life. My dad feeds the deer at 6 pm like he’s going to get fired from his job if they eat at 6:05🫠. I feel so much gratitude for their incredible example of how to serve animals🫶🏻
