Central Dakota Humane Society provides care and support for stray, abandoned, neglected, and injured animals – from rescue through adoption. We provide shelter, a warm bed, nutritious food, veterinary and medical care, socialization, play time, training, and love – and we match the animals with loving, forever homes where they can live their best lives. CDHS helps the community through our program

- Spay/Neuter Assistance Program - provides coupons that reduce the cost of spay/neuter surgeries in the central North Dakota area
- Buddy’s Bowl Program – regularly delivers pet food to pet families in need through local human aid organizations
- Friends Fur Life – matches senior pets with senior people for a waived adoption fee
- 2-for-1 Cat/Kitten Adoptions - Adopt two cats or kittens for the adoption fee of one. Having a playmate and napping partner is so good for their mental and physical well-being. The CDHS shelter provides a place for people in the community to volunteer and provides a spot for folks to enjoy the companionship of an animal, take a breath, and find their calm. Please join us in helping pets in need. We challenge every pet lover to show your love for your own animals by giving back to those less fortunate.

Volunteer Ruth's lovely daughter Nicolette (first photo) was home for a visit and spent several days hanging out at the shelter enjoying enrichment time with our puppies. She also took some amazing pictures of her mom, Ruth, in her daily role as dog whisperer at CDHS. Two beautiful ladies with hearts of gold, going the extra mile to help the shelter dogs. ❤️

If you recall the injured white cat at Mandan Police Department Animal Control, he is now named Duncan and is residing at CDHS.

He was taken to the vet and he is fine. Lots of bumps and scars, probably from fighting, but he is healing up. And NOT FIV-positive!

He is an absolute mush, purring and making biscuits, and we love him already.

Thanks to Mandan PD Animal Control for rescuing Duncan and getting him to us.

CDHS DOG DAYS DEALS RUMMAGE SALE is coming up Aug. 12-15!

We will be holding intake for the sale for 12 days ONLY.

Intake will take place at the former Sears store at Gateway Mall.

July 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, 31, Aug. 1, 4, 5, 6, 7 ,8 (Tues-Fri, 1-5:30 pm and Sat, 1-4 pm).

Make a plan to drop off your treasures for someone else to own and enjoy, while also raising money to help the shelter pets. We will have volunteers available to help unload on those days only.

Say hello to Clementine, a big, sweet girl who is searching for a home. She is one strong lady but one who loves a good belly rub and cuddle time with her human.

She would like a calm home who likes to go for walks and has a yard for playing in.

On June 28th at Cappuccino on Collins from 2-4pm for just $10 you can adopt your very own pet! Name it, get an adoption certificate, make it a collar, AND decorate a kennel for it!

All proceeds will be going to Central Dakota Humane Society !
