It’s never too early to start planning to show at the Sunshine State Mustang Show in January and, I’ve decided to offer an exciting opportunity to the right person.

Since I’ve got some plans to show another mustang, hopefully 🤞, in the UAM (Ultimate American Mustang Division) I have decided to offer up the opportunity for someone else to show Raven. Raven was the winner of the UAM division this year as well as helped me win the overall adult buckle. She’s a very versatile girl who can be shown in any of the divisions. From English to western to liberty, she’s for you covered!

If you know me then you probably know that I don’t usually let people show my personal horse. But, last year showing two horses was too much for me. While it was very rewarding I said I wouldn’t do it again, I’m going to try to stick to that. Hence why I’ve decided to offer Raven up to someone who may want to show but doesn’t have a mustang 😉

Anyone who is interested, please message me for more details about what this would entail!

First sits for both Hondo and Áine. Two mustangs: two very different sizes 😆

They were both fantastic for me putting weight in the stirrups and doing a first sit. Both are getting closer and closer to first rides!

Coming to Tennessee this July… I should probably have stayed off the internet adoption 😝but after some exciting news, I couldn’t help it.

Any guesses what this guy is for?

Both of the newbies are progressing very well in their gentling and have both hit the worst milestone for me… picking up the feet 😅

Since I got kicked in the leg that required 11 stitches back in 2018, working with the feet and around the hind end in general has been my least favorite part of mustang gentling. I’ve built my confidence back up with it and have gotten through some pretty reactive horses, but it’s still my least favorite part. Now that the worst part is over, these two will be further their confidence with their feet in preparation for a very important next step : their first trim!

Miss Áine had her first trip out of the mustang pens today. There were lots of things to look at but she handled herself well for the most part. She got to meet some new people and explore a few of the obstacles.

Something about Áine is that she has a big, dramatic reaction to some things. We have spent a lot of time working on this in the mustang pen before going out, but she did her big spook once and did get away. Thankfully, she trotted to the corner before turning and coming right up to me.

She’s actually quite soft in her leading, just a wee bit big in her reactions that can be hard to hold onto. Still, she’s a very sweet and smart mare who is coming right along in her gentling!
