Hill Work for Horses Pros & Cons 🐴⛰️
Uphill Walking
• Builds hind-end strength
• Improves balance & fitness
• Encourages engagement
Downhill Walking
• Improves coordination & body awareness
• Strengthens stabilizing muscles
⚠️ Watch For
• Increased stress on front legs & joints
• Higher risk of slipping or rushing downhill
Feel The Pulse Tip: Start with gentle slopes, prioritize good footing, and let fitness build gradually. Hill work can be a powerful tool when done thoughtfully. 💙

We take our diet, conditioning & therapy programs just as serious for the dogs as we do the horses around here 💪🏻 Klaus would not be able to run in the top 5 fastest Dutch Shepherds in the nation for FastCat without a great diet, conditioning program and pre and post recovery therapies! Tell us what your dogs talent is ?

A good working walk & hills (small dose to start) are your fitness friends ! So many people underestimate what a good working walk can do for your horse. A good working walk will build better & healthier muscles then cantering circles. What’s your favorite back to work routine?

Welcome Ashley & her crew to the Feel The Pulse 2026 team ❤️

I'm Ashley and these are my four dogs, Jax, Barracuda, Hemi and Mighty Max. They range from age 1 to 12 all with varying life styles. Barracuda and Hemi compete in multiple sports such as dock diving, fastcat, barn hunt and PSA. Jax competes in barn hunt and fastcat and is also my service dog who has been with me for 6 years now, last but not least little mighty max does not compete in any sports but at 12 lives an active life of hiking and kayaking!

We have various goals this year. After having puppies this past summer I am excited to get Barracuda back into competition shape. We have been fortunate and lucky to have made it to Ultimate Air Dogs Nationals and Dock Dogs Worlds a few times so we hope to make it in 2026 along with getting Hemi qualified to compete at that level as well! We also plan on getting more active in fastcat and compete at a competitive level. Lastley we hope to earn Barracuda and Hemi's PDC in PSA.

Outside of dog sports- traveling, hiking and being outdoors is something we love to do. A new year means more adventures and traveling to be had, and of course kayaking with the one and only mighty max.

Feel The Pulse has already played a critical role in helping in recovery and maintenance for my pack as well as myself -from pinched nerves, sore muscles and competition recovery for the dogs to 2 ACL recontrutions and meniscus repair for me . Being part of the Feel the Pulse team allows us to keep in competition shape but also allows us to keep going on the adventures we love.

Welcome Elvi Matthews to the 2026 Feel The Pulse team ❤️

Elvi is a dedicated young rider who competes in barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, breakaway roping, and dummy roping.

Elvi has three older horses: Jojo, Clancey, and Denali. All them would benefit from additional therapies. She’s focused this season on improving her speed, timing, and confidence while keeping her horses feeling their best. She’s a hardworking, enthusiastic competitor who would proudly represent
Feel the Pulse at every event.

She placed in all her events in her first year at the KJRA. She won the barrels, placed third in dummy roping, and was fourth in the running for the All Around title in her age bracket. She recently competed in the dummy roping at the AQHA Congress and placed amongst national competition.

Welcome rosalia & Jesse to the Feel The Pulse team ❤️
My name is Rosalia Longo, and I’ve been involved with horses for the past ten years. Although I didn’t grow up in a horse family, my passion for them has been lifelong. I knew since I was a child I have always loved “horsies”. This is something I’ve built on my own with the help of my Mom being so supportive right beside me. I began barrel racing in 2018 with my first horse, Doc, competing through CGA before transitioning fully into the barrel racing world.

For the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of partnering with my current horse, Jesse. Together, we’ve navigated a variety of challenges, including major physical setbacks and injuries that have required patience, dedication, and the right support team. Sometimes it felt like I’d never see the light at the end of the tunnel. But Feel the Pulse, specifically Brooke, has been pivotal in Jesse’s progress. Brooke’s expertise in bodywork and nutrition has transformed Jesse’s performance and overall well-being. She’s always been a phone call or text away—always available for guidance when unexpected issues arise, anything from lameness to random inflammation, shoeing issues, saddle fit, EPM, cuts, minor/ major injuries.

My competition goals for the 2026 season are to expand into the world of rodeo, take my upcoming 2 year old Filly out to exhibition and show her the ropes. But my true real goal with Jesse is to place more often in the 1D but i want to be realistic and consistently place within the top of the 2D division at bigger shows 200+, bigger shows will be my main focus for 2026. Most importantly I want to continue strengthening the connection and consistency between Jesse and myself.

Feel The Pulse is already a cornerstone in my routine, playing a critical role in maintaining Jesse’s soundness and recovery during the competitive season. Being part of the Feel the Pulse team would further support my horse’s ongoing care and allow me to focus on reaching our performance goals

WELCOME Alicia & Reggie to our 2026 Feel The Pulse team!! We look forward to being apart of your 2026 year and goals ❤️

I’m Alicia and Reggie is my 12 yr old OTTB Gelding. Reggie is my 3’ equitation/jumper. We have used Magnawave for years and it has greatly benefited him as he has kissing spine. I’ve seen a huge difference in him and the way his muscles work using Magnawave. He is a super expressive horse and will yawn and lick/chew during his sessions. We also do chiropractic along with magnwave to maximize how his body feels to be able to compete at the 3’. We have competed in numerous chsa finals. Been to TIP finals in Aiken, SC. Along with competing at many rated & local schooling shows in CT at the 2’6” level. Next year, 2026 is the year we plan to move up to the 3’. We plan on attending multiple chsa/chja/NEHC rated shows as well as going back to Aiken, SC for TIP finals! Possibly competing at VT summer festival as well!
