š¾ Meet Izzy! š¾
This adorable 5 month old Yorkshire Terrier mix recently paid us a visit after deciding a sago palm looked like a tasty snack. Thankfully, Izzy was an excellent patient throughout her treatment, and it didn't take long for her sweet personality to win over our entire team. Everyone absolutely loved her!
While sago palms are beautiful ornamental plants, they are extremely toxic to dogs. Every part of the plant contains cycasin, a toxin that can cause severe liver damage when ingested. Even a small amount can lead to vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, seizures, liver failure, and, in some cases, death.
If you suspect your pet has chewed on or eaten any part of a sago palm, seek veterinary care immediately. Early treatment can make all the difference.
We're so proud of sweet Izzy for being such a brave girl and wish her a speedy recovery!
