Hello from What the Pup?! Many of you know that I've recently had to shut down my business due to health problems, and I've scheduled and rescheduled many appointments, only to have to cancel again. I apologize for the inconvenience of that! As it turns out, I have cancer, and I really don't know when or if I'll be back to work. I'm slowly going through my appointment book to notify everyone and cancel upcoming grooms, but it's really hard to talk to people without getting emotional about it. I know that I just do dog haircuts, but I love this job so much, and I love your dogs so much, and the friendships and relationships I've developed with my clients have meant the world to me. I've laughed with you, and cried with you, I've given many of your beloved pets their first and last haircuts, and then a first haircut on your next dog. I've watched some of you grow up and have families and dogs of your own. This job has carried me through the best and worst times of my life, and I've loved every minute of it. I so appreciate your trust in me, and the kindness you've extended to me throughout the years. I do hope to be back at it as soon as possible....it's my little calling and my life's work, and with any luck, I'll be swimming in dog hair again soon! I'll be reaching out to other Wisconsin groomers to try to find businesses to refer you to, so keep an eye out for a post on that. Again, thank you so much for allowing me to care for your pets!

Hello, friends! I'm officially banning retractable leashes at my shop. They're dangerous to dogs and people alike, and I've had one too many instances of being almost je**ed off my feet by a dog on a retractable leash. I hope everyone considers getting rid of them entirely. Here's an article on the dangers they pose.

Consumer Reports first sounded the alarm, "Retractable leashes pose problems for people and their pets," and it's no exaggeration. People choose them thinking they'll give dogs extra freedom on walks. Unfortunately, the upsides are far outweighed by the risks.

Hey, friends! I've been down and out with the flu all week. I've tried to keep up with calls and messages and rescheduling, but honestly, I've just been hopped up on Dayquil/Nyquil 🥴 most of the time, so if I haven't returned your call or message, please reach out again.
