Hello everyone! Happy new year and we hope you are all staying warm.

Enjoy this video of the lesson horses going outside Monday afternoon after the storm. (We left Romeo inside with Chubby as the snow was too deep for him👍🏻)

❗️Criswood Announcement❗️

Starting today we are now open for private and semi-private lessons ONLY.
Instructors should have already reached out to all current students to inform them of this. If you are a current student and have not been contacted please give us a call as we have certain opportunities available to all students.

If you are interested in starting private lessons for the first time, please visit our website for information or give us a call at (703)590-4224.

We are still uncertain as to when we will be starting our group lessons and summer camp. This decision is also dependent on the governors order as well as our ability to meet the states guidelines for opening. We will announce when know more.

We currently have many rules and restrictions in place to help keep everyone safe, but they are only effective if everyone follows them accordingly. Therefore, if you are coming to attend your please be sure you have read and understood our prevention guidelines.

The rules are as follows:
-Only students are allowed in the facility and may only be present in the barn 10 minutes prior to and during the hour time frame of their lesson.
-All students must wear a mask at the facility at all times.
-Upon entering the barn, students are to sanitize or to wash their hands for 20 seconds.
-Students are not allowed to go the stalls. Instructors will get the horses.
-Students are to only stay in their own designated grooming stall.
-Students will retrieve one set of clean brushes at the beginning of the lesson and are to place them in the disinfecting bucket and the end of the lesson (buckets will be labeled).
-Students are not allowed in the tack room (unless looking for a helmet, which instructor assistance will be needed). All tack for the student will already be placed on the grooming stall wall.
-After the lesson, students will untack and place the equipment back on the grooming stall wall. (If a helmet was borrowed, it will also be left at the grooming stall).
-Treats will be given in the grooming stalls only.
-Students are to wash their hands again before leaving.

We cannot wait to see everyone again and appreciate your understanding and support during this time. Thank you!

Check out the lounge in the lesson barn! It has also gotten a badly needed clean out and DIY makeover! 👍🏻

Happy 25th Birthday to Drew!🎉

Drew has lived at Criswood his whole life. He still acts the same now as he did as when he was young. Often one of the most mischievous horses at the barn, Drew can be pinned as the instigator to many of the strange happenings in the field. He embodies the phrase “work hard(still lazy), play harder”.

His large personality and smooth ride wins over many students. We are so grateful to have had him in our program all these years!

Everyone raise a carrot, and celebrate! Here’s to many more with this lovely guy!🥕🎊

💜✨Update on Rachel:
She is still doing very well and progressing right on track. She seems to really enjoy the new footing as well. This was the first workout we had given her since the vet trip, but she is still moving beautifully.

Grandpa Romeo🐴 was willing to give us a little ba****ck ride in exchange for checking out the new sand pre-fabric. He walked himself around and checked out the arena like he’d never been there before. Here we have him discovering the bales of fabric for the sand. He seemed confused as to if he should eat it or not.🧐 He is as charming as ever!

We are excited to announce the completion of a project that was purchased back in early February! 🎉🐴
We have completely redone the footing in the lesson barn arena! It is now filled with a very nice GGT footing that has a higher water retention (less dust) and will be a much softer impact for our horses joints and hooves. We cannot wait for everyone to come back and to enjoy riding in the arena! The horses are already moving like they are young again and seem to really enjoy it!
