Stormi, Sage, Lily & Loki were seen at the vet this morning. They’ve had a minor set back so they weren’t able to start their vetting process yet.
They’ve have a vet appointment next week and we’re hoping they can start vaccinations then.
Right now, making sure their health and wellbeing is priority.

🐾 KITTEN LIVES MATTER. HEALTH SHOULD ALWAYS COME FIRST.🐾
Pediatric spay/neuter can wait!

We’ve been seeing more and more cases of very young kittens being spayed or neutered before they are physically ready, and it raises serious concerns.

While spaying and neutering are essential parts of responsible pet ownership and help prevent overpopulation, the health, safety, and individual needs of each kitten must come first.

Not every kitten develops at the same rate, and age, weight, overall health, and physical condition all matter when determining whether a kitten is ready for surgery and anesthesia. Pediatric spay/neuter procedures can be performed safely by experienced veterinary professionals when appropriate protocols are followed, but they are not without risks. Each kitten deserves an individual veterinary assessment.

A three-pound minimum is not a universal medical requirement, but neither should a kitten’s readiness for surgery be determined by convenience or a desire to complete an adoption quickly.

Rescues and shelters have a responsibility to protect the animals in their care. Adoption deadlines, paperwork, and fees should never take priority over an animal’s well-being.

If a kitten needs more time to grow, gain weight, or become medically ready for surgery, then give that kitten the time and care it deserves. Work with a qualified veterinarian to determine the safest plan.

These are living, breathing, vulnerable little souls who depend on us to make the right decisions for them. They cannot speak up for themselves. We must be their voices.

Adoption fees can wait. A healthy recovery matters. A kitten’s life matters.

Please advocate for responsible veterinary care, individualized medical decisions, and the welfare of every animal in rescue.

Rescue should mean protecting lives—not rushing them through a process.🐱
